Zumba's dance party atmosphere creates an engaging way for physically disabled and developmentally disabled populations,including people on the autistic spectrum to get fit while having fun. The exciting rhythms of Latin, International and pop music encourage even timid participants to shimmy, shake and shout while gaining valuable personal, interpersonal and fitness benefits. Objectives include increased self-confidence, focus, coordination, mastery, self-initiative, endurance as well as having an incredibly good time. This class is taught by licensed and experienced Zumba instructor and seasoned creative arts therapist.

In this anti-bullying show, James addresses a serious topic in a way that's fun and engaging thanks to the amazing magic and lots of audience participation. James addresses various types of bullying, and addresses the question of why kids bully. James sends a strong message that victims need to walk or run away when possible, and then report it. “Telling is not tattling” when it comes to bullying -- it's an important intervention to help oneself or another person. The show also addresses the role of peer-pressure in bullying behaviors, since often a group of kids will gang-up to abuse someone. James encourages kids not be led into becoming bullies in order to please their friends.

This class is designed to introduce students to American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is the natural and visual-gestural language used by deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States. In this class, students will learn the manual alphabet, numbers, vocabulary and facial expressions. Specifically: introducing oneself, asking and giving names, asking yes/no and wh-questions, exchanging personal information, and commonly used phrases. Come join us for this exciting new class!

Mr. Matt Mazur is an autism intervention and early childhood music education specialist. He performs a funny, engaging and highly interactive music & movement concert for all children including children on the Autism Spectrum. We regularly work with the New York Public Library and are one of their “best reviewed programs”. Each song is accompanied by tactile, visual, auditory and humorous experiences. The show includes interactive music technology, banjo, didgeridoo, guitar and many more instruments!
