Miles to Go: Songs, Stories & Insights From a Life in Music Life Skills- Other,
Music,
Performing Arts- Storytelling
This entertaining and informative session includes the wisdom earned from hundreds of thousands of miles of life as a touring singer-songwriter and policy social worker. Lara will play songs from her recent recordings and walk us through a song’s journey from observation to poetry to recording. She will reflect about the creative process and the people, places and events that have inspired her, while answering our questions along the way. Lara’s themes span a broad range, including stories of misfits and underdogs, connection and courage, love and loss, hardship and hope, resilience and transformation – so most topics are fair game! (Note: This workshop can be adapted for a performing-musician audience, expanding to include music business & performance advice.)
$501- $1000

Music,
Other
(Women & Wingspan: same workshop with female-only participants) To be human is to be creative. Even so, many of us have trouble connecting to, nurturing and prioritizing our creativity. In this engaging, interactive, values-centered workshop, participants will learn strategies to connect to their internal compass and find patience and tolerance for taking artistic risks. Activities will include facilitated exercises, discussion, writing and reflection, with music and inspiring images enhancing the environment. Themes will include: myths and the creative process, inspiration, embracing fear and vulnerability, identifying and overcoming stumbling blocks, embracing intrinsic expression regardless of outcome, connecting your art & values, and allowing your unique perspective to shine. No matter from which creative arena – painting, drawing, pottery, poetry, photography, music and beyond – each participant will have protected time and space to re-discover and re-commit to expressing their creative core.
$1001- $3000

Step in, step up: we are the leaders we’ve been waiting for. (Note: This workshop can be tailored towards more interaction/participation, or towards more presentation/audience.)
