| DR. THINK -- science and math related performances |
Performing Arts- Theater, Science |
Craig Babcock is Dr. Think. He presents 2 elaborate theatrical performances:
DR. THINK, MAN OF IMAGINATION takes the audience on a fascinating journey through the history of creativity and invention. We explore and meet some of the great thinkers from the past, such as Galileo, Ben Franklin, Sir Isaac Newton, George Washington Carver, Thomas Edison, Alexander Grahame Bell, and others. Discover how imagination is a vital ingredient in every part of our lives, and the spark that lights the way to the future. Through humor, music, mime, circus skills and audience participation, DR. THINK shows us great imaginators throughout history, and helps us to learn how to use our own imaginations. DR THINK AND THE CASE OF THE MISSING NUMBER is an exciting adventure that makes math fun! Math problems are cleverly woven into this intriguing mystery adventure. The number 12 is missing from Dr. Think’s new invention! He and his lab assistant, Skully, follow the math clues to track down the thief. Children learn how they, too, can become math detectives. (Separate versions for grades K-2, and 3-6) |

| SUPER SCIENTIFIC CIRCUS with Mr. Fish & Lisa Lou |
Performing Arts- Clowning, Science |
Programs available include:
PHENOMENAL PHYSICS by Mr. Fish proves that science can be fun by showing students amazing tricks involving bubbles, balloons, bull whips, eggs and a table stacked with glasses. THE ANTI-GRAVITY SHOW shows that the law of gravity, “everything that goes up must come down,” changes when things start spinning. Audience learns how to do many circus skills including balancing, rope spinning, magic, and more. THE MAGIC OF CHEMISTRY is performed by both Mr. Fish and Lisa Lou. Magic tricks and circus skills help explain atoms, molecules, the elements, compounds, solutions, magnetism, and static electricity. The performance can also be presented as a dynamic solo show by Lisa Lou. THE SCIENCE OF MAGIC uses mirrors, magnets, math, air, optical illusions, and more to explore how to use science to perform common magic tricks. THE AMAZING ACTIVITY ZONE is an interactive workshop, where various stations are set up for children to browse through. Each station has a science-related circus activity. SUPER CIRCUS STUFF is a PURELY FUN one or two-person circus show with juggling, balancing, plate-spinning, magic, funny stuff, and lots of audience participation. Fun for the whole family! |
