A simply spectacular collection of rainforest butterflies and moths, many collected by the presenter, will provide a glimpse of the stunning beauty and infinite variety of tropical rainforest life, tropical rainforest climate & geography, and biological concepts relating to these rainforest creatures are covered. A few rainforest photos are shown and actual rainforest experiences are related. Presenter to audience and audience to presenter questions throughout the program. Presenter has explored the world's tropical rainforests for approximately 1,000 days: Australia, Borneo, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, Malay Peninsula, New Guinea, Peru, Sulawesi and Venezuela; and led a half dozen major scientific expeditions for the Smithsonian and Field Museums.

In keeping with the “Libraries Rock!” theme, he includes lots of encouragement of the kids’ lifelong participation in music, reading, and library usage. He performed 52 programs during the Summer Reading season of 2017, accompanying himself on guitar, banjo, and a drum machine to keep things nice and upbeat. Teens will learn about hardware and software design for people with disabilities as they prototype and program adaptive game controllers using Makey Makey invention kits and Scratch programming. Kathy Ceceri is the author of more than a dozen books of hands-on STEAM projects, including 'Video Games: Design and Code Your Own Adventure' from Nomad Press. She also offers teen programs on sports and dance game controllers and has led the popular Makey Makey workshops at the Games in Education symposium for education professionals.
