Brickman, Robin	Art to Wear: Animals, Insects, or Flower Pins	Nature- Environment, Science, Visual Arts- Other	Robin Brickman, an award-winning book illustrator, will teach an art class based on natural science. Everyone will use coloring supplies on paper, cutting and shaping his or her piece, and then adding a pin to its back. The pins can be made into any natural item, such as flowers or insects. Steele, George	Pond Life Exploration	Nature- Animals, Nature- Environment	Explore the world of the fresh water pond as aquatic ecologists. I will bring freshwater samples into the library that participants will investigate. Learn about Who is who. What do they do. How do they grow. Where do they go. The presentation wraps up with a close up look at some of the organisms that have been capture using a simple pond life magnification projection system.	$101- $200
Rogers, John	BUILD YOUR OWN BLUEBIRD BOX	Nature- Animals, Nature- Other, Other	Build your own bluebird nest box! Kids and adults love to make their own bluebird box. Other birds that use this box include tree swallows, chickadees, titmice, and wrens. It is a hands-on learning experience. Using pre-cut lumber with ALL materials and tools provided, everyone makes and takes home a bluebird nest box. (Or,alternatively, a chickadee box with a smaller entrance hole for those who do not have good bluebird habitat.) The nest box building program includes a PowerPoint presentation on bluebirds and other birds with John Rogers. This dynamic and colorful PowerPoint presentation will educate the audience on bluebirds, other birds, and how to properly place their box, etc. The slide program will add about 35-45 minutes, making the total time up to 90 minutes. Children, adults, and families love this hands-on activity, and it provides an opportunity to help bluebirds, other birds, and the environment, too. Materials include pre-cut wood, nails, and inside plastic strip. Tools include hammers and safety glasses. Mr. Rogers cuts and drills the wood himself in his garage.	Up to $100
MacGregor, Grian	The Ivy Vine Players Puppet Theater	Nature- Gardening, Performing Arts- Puppetry, Visual Arts- Other	The Ivy Vine Players Puppet Theater is a one-woman show with a cast of over 75 handmade puppets. Each one has been individually crafted from recycled materials, so that Uncle Walter's bathrobe appears suitably well-worn, and Nana's muddy garden boots have a familiar feel. The show is a blend of song and story,; you'll leave humming the tunes, and remembering tales of being kind to the earth and each other. Puppet-making workshops are available to follow the show ($175). We provide most materials and teach puppetry skills. NEW! Autobiographical shadow puppet workshop for kids 8 years and up.	$351- $500

Rudy Root Jr. is ever vigilant about life underground. The roots of newly planted seeds that travel way down through the dirt; the insects and rodents who make their homes in the dank, dark earth; the mineral treasures that lie hidden from view. Art and Science of Mantracking, Search, and Rescue	Life Skills- Other, Nature- Other, Science	This subject encompasses the current state of tracking people who are either lost or fugitives. It discusses the many facets of planning and conducting searches and rescues, especially from the point of view of tracking a person who may or may not wish to be found. Given current attention and public interest in an open manhunt incident, this subject is very topical and will explain much to a concerned public as well as law enforcement or others who may become involved in such an investigation in the future.	$201- $350
Smith, Dr. Andrew J.	How To Read the Woods (AKA Landscape Archaeology)	History, Nature- Environment, Science	Into this century what are now park woodlands were inhabited by small communities. As one travels these areas, evidence of former habitations can be seen--evidence such as foundations, stone walls, wells fruit trees, trash heaps, latrine pits, and introduced plant species are common and obvious. But most people don't realize what they are looking at when they see it. This show is an introduction to what is actually a form of archaeology which explains to those who frequently hike or otherwise are in the forest and fields, how to differentiate between the works of man and the works of nature. Can also be done in conjunction with a field trip.	$201- $350

Fun is the guiding principle. He performed 88 family programs during the summer reading season of 2012, and has delighted tens of thousands over the past twenty years. Tom accompanies himself on guitar, banjo, harmonica, and a drum machine. His 2013 program, 'Howl at the Moon with a Ground-Dweller Tune!', is designed with the 'Dig into Reading!' summer reading theme in mind. He travels with a great sound system for use as needed- it works nicely outside, too. He can be booked for $295/275 with no mileage fee- please see below for details.
