Topics include working with agents and managers, booking gigs, recording, touring and much more. Performance coaching a la "American Idol" is also offered if desired. Gentle and constructive suggestions are made to "raise the game" of any participant who wishes to share a song in front of the group.

Immigration - The Musical! An artist-in-residence program History,

Multiple national award-winning singer-songwriter Patricia Shih offers a residency designed for grades 4 and up to teach about Immigration in America. Ms. Shih will visit each class in one grade level to help them research and write a musical; if time and budget allows, there can also be auditions, rehearsals and an actual school or community theatrical production based on the students' families' own immigrant ancestor's experience. The length and scope of the residency will depend on the size of the grade population and the school's budget, needs and wants.

Big Ideas! Concerts for families Music
Big Ideas! is the umbrella title for each of Patricia Shih's 18 differently-themed shows, subtitles which include: Literacy and The Love of Learning; The Environment; Multiculturalism and Differences; Disabilities; The Holidays--Christmas, Hanukah and Kwanzaa; Halloween show; and much more. Sponsor chooses one or can combine shows; also Patricia custom-writes shows based on a sponsor's needs. She also writes a new summer reading club show every year based on that year's theme.

This is a workshop for teens to teach them about the fun, fact, fiction, fantasies and frustrations of a life in music. The first part of the workshop will be Patricia speaking about the realities of a music career; the second will be performance coaching a la "American Idol". Participants will be invited to share one prepared song in front of the group; afterwards Patricia will offer gentle constructive suggestions to steer the participant towards a higher, more professional presentation.

Award-winning singer-songwriter Patricia Shih offers a custom-made show every year to match the theme of the summer reading club. All songs not only relevant but also have entire audience participation and are full of fun, movement, sing-along and more.
