Learn about the colorful history of Mexican Folk art painting while creating your own floral still life using acrylics on 12x15 paper. You will be guided through the process step-by-step. All materials supplied. This is a make and take program.

Visual Arts- Painting
Using supplied river stones, acrylic paints and brushes, create a set of ladybugs on a leaf, bee on a flower or use your own imagination to make the creature of your choice! Reference materials will be supplied along with information regarding the habitat of ladybugs and honeybees.

Create a fun mask with supplied glue, yarn, plastic milk jug and assorted everyday household objects. Just for kids!

Wire Sculpture Disability Awareness,
Visual Arts- Other
Aluminum wire, base wood block, tissue paper, pipe cleaners are provided for participants to create and form the basic shapes of anything they want to model. Learn movement and self-expression and leave with a finished sculpture!

An Introduction into Stage Design Performing Arts- Storytelling,

A scene from a popular story is selected in advance, such as “A Christmas Carol.” Individual 3D characters are constructed by participants using supplied materials, then the group tempera paints a backdrop together completing the project.

Create Mardi Gras Masks History,
Visual Arts- Crafts
While learning about the origins of Mardi Gras in America, participants are provided with mask, feathers, sequins and needed materials and are encouraged to decorate, design and create their own mask. The project is accompanied by printed examples of existing masks used in prior Mardi Gras festivals to use as reference. This is a make and take program.

Print an original monoprint design Visual Arts- Other
Learn the technique of Monoprinting – a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once. All materials are supplied to create two prints using tempera paint on plexiglass and paper. This is a make and take program.

Dancing Brushstrokes Visual Arts- Painting
Using supplied materials, participants will explore brushstrokes and how they are painted with tempera paints on paper resulting in an animated scene of dancing characters. For ages 6 & up. This is a make and take program.

Building with Shapes Visual Arts- Painting
Children learn to create a building or design using a line stamp as a tool and a single color paint. Oil pastels are used to color in the shapes.
