Performing Arts- Storytelling
Aunt Helen's closet is the true story of my Great Aunt Helen Fitzgerald's life of traveling around the world for over 60 years. The colorful display spreads out over 25 feet and I bring Mexican blankets for the children to sit on. I take the members of the audience, put my aunts clothes on top of their own clothes and tell stories. The boys like it as much as the girls as I have safari clothes, hiking clothes from every country in South America, hand carved walking sticks etc. Aunt Helen's love for interesting people, exotic places and unique cultures is passed along from one generation to the next through storytelling and hands-on participation. Ellen takes you on a learning journey from the African savannah to the Australian outback. The hands-on museum approach to learning enables studetns to discover various cultures in a friendly and exciting manner.
