We will visit the Iroquois Nation, the Big Apple, the Hudson River, the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains and more. This program can be adapted for all ages, can be interactive for the very young and can include a songwriting workshop for teens.

BJ and Company will custom design the right program for your needs. We have worked extensively with children and families and performed hundreds of shows. SUGGESTED PROGRAM … a fun introduction to the art of clowning. Barb will come and gradually change costume to become BJ the Clown. She will apply professional clown make up on three audience volunteers to show the three main clown types (whiteface, hobo, august), and have a fun discussion about the art of clowning. Central New York magician Ron Cain offers workshops that help young people enjoy and explore the magical world around them. Each combines class instruction with hands-on activities. IT'S MAGIC! teaches kids to perform magic with ordinary objects like cards, coins and rope. Ron's SCIENTIFIC SECRETS OF MAGIC teaches scientific principles behind the tricks of his trade. Children learn simple tricks that involve chemistry, physics, biology, psychology and math. CLOWNING AROUND shows them how to have fun with juggling, yo-yos and balloon animals. THE WORLD OF HARRY POTTER gives Hogwarts fans a chance to take magical classes and play wizard games. ENCHANTED CREATURES focuses on the folklore and legends surrounding elves, fairies, leprechauns, trolls, dragons and unicorns. MONSTEROLOGY sheds light on the seven monster families and invites students to use their imagination to create creepy creatures. A GATHERING OF GHOSTS introduces students to classic ghost stories and beliefs. THE WILD, WILD WEST lets children pretend to be cowboys (and girls) and learn about Wild Bill Hickok, Annie Oakley and Sitting Bull. A native Texan, Ron graduated from Syracuse University and took graduate classes in social studies education. He has taught at Onondaga Community College and Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES.

"During this interactive presentation, theatre enthusiast Brian Stoll will discuss all things Broadway beginning with the history and importance of the Broadway Playbill. He will share his extensive collection of autographed Playbills and other theatre memorabilia. Lastly, Brian will share with you several money-saving tips on how to see Broadway shows for under $50." I bring with me my entire autographed Playbill collection (which continues to grow) as well as theatre memorabilia and antique Playbills for the audience to peruse. I personally have seen over 150 Broadway productions and rarely pay more than $50 a ticket!

Pfundstein, Valerie Veterans: Heroes in Our Neighborhood History,

Author Valerie Pfundstein will introduce children to real- life “superheroes” - our military veterans, who walk among us every day. Children will discover the similarities between the veterans and the superheroes that are immortalized in cartoons and movies. The children will be introduced to some real life veterans through pictures, song, and stories, and through an author reading of “Veterans: Heroes in Our Neighborhood.”
