| Gothic Victorian Tales by Candlelight, stories by Sarah Orne Jewett |
Literature- Authors, Performing Arts- Storytelling, Performing Arts- Literary Artists |
Sarah Orne Jewett, a native of South Berwick Maine is one of the finest New England regional writers of the 19th century. Her stories mirror the everyday lives and landscapes furing that earlier time. Some of her best know works are The White Heron and The Country of the Pointed Firs. Less known are her weird tales of the mysterious and supernatural.
