This show is a tribute to an inspiring composer whose life and work were well in advance of her time. A one-woman retrospective of Miss Branscombe's life showcases the romantic beauty of her exceptional music. A performance full of family entertainment, enchantment and inspiration! Composer Gena Branscombe was a leading figure in American classical music from 1905 until her death in 1977. Her richly melodic, award-winning body of work includes over 150 art songs, chamber music, choral works and piano compositions. An integral part of New York City and State musical life in her time, Miss Branscombe was also the founder and leader of the Branscombe Choral, with an illustrious career that included performing and conducting for kings, presidents and the celebrated figures of her time.
