Job seekers meet with an experienced recruiter & life coach to improve their career building skills. Available in a one or two hour formats; two hours is great for individual attention, the one hour workshop is ideal for a quick review of career building basics.
Topics include:

Develop an employment search strategy for a better career in today’s market. Talk to a recruiter about
posting and maintaining resumes online and pursuing openings on Internet career sites and job boards.
*Resume Writing
Understand the role of a resume in the job search process. Develop an effective employment portfolio
including resume, letters and references. Participants can bring their resume and employment ads of
interest.
*Interview Preparation
Always be prepared for impromptu meetings, initial phone screenings and face to face interviews with
prospective employers. Learn tips and tricks to make a winning first impression and advance your
career.
*Dressing for Success
Create a wardrobe that works for interviews, meetings and travel. Learn how to navigate today’s
business casual style while impressing higher-ups. Discover personal branding and how to use it for
career growth.

Learn how to create beautiful jewelry from the wings of a butterfly! Delicate work involves cutting a small piece of wing, mounting it in a sterling silver plating, and covering it with waterproof apoxy. Necklaces, Rings, Bracelets, Charms, Earrings, Bookmarks, Table Weights.
Pieces must dry overnight, and may be taken home by the participants or kept at the library for a 24 hour period.
We will also discuss what types of butterflies we are using as well as their life-cycle.
This program is suitable for the 2013 summer reading program.

Beginning: How to draw great characters, brainstorm, and create a ‘voice’ for characters.
Middle: Establish plot, setting, and conflict.
End: Edit and re-write the story and create a resolution!
Assemblies: Katie teaches story construction, sequencing, how ideas transform from thought to published book. Audience learns to do drawings of emotions, Katie shares her own mistakes, and teaches skills students can use when creating their own stories.
Highly interactive program - audience helps write a story; volunteers make different emotional expressions. Katie draws their faces on the characters and together they create a new narrative with emphasis on beginning, middle and end.
Workshops: brainstorming, plotting, descriptive narrative, and character development. Illustration: Katie teaches HOW TO SEE so you’re able to illustrate any story you write.

GIGI AND THE LEND ME A HAND BAND'S MOVEMENT & MERRIMENT ALBUM WAS A FINALIST IN THE 2008 CHILDREN'S MUSIC WEB AWARDS FOR BOTH BEST ALBUM & BEST SONG CATEGORIES!!
Gigi and Family & Friends add interactive musical adventures combining aspects of music, art and lots of imagination for a wonderful Summer Reading Program.
Highlights will include:
• We’ll bring tubs of our famous LEND ME A HAND BAND decorated wooden spoons for the audience to play along with us to create an accompaniment to our music and also use as props in songs and stories. We’ll create our own band and play and learn about different rhythms and styles.
• WE'LL LEAD A MUSICAL ADVENTURE and include the song, “AIKEN DRUM”, with an audience member (older grade) drawing the “man made of food” from audience suggestions, and we’ll all sing along at the end.
• We’ll also CREATE our own VERSES to certain songs selected age appropriately to target audience and sing them along.
**Can also be adjusted to pre-school age.

This is a fun and imaginative introduction to the art of balloon sculpture. Inflating, tying, managing the air within the balloon, lock twists, tulip twists, fold twists, and other techniques are all demonstrated. Students will make at least one balloon sculpture all of their own and are encouraged to merge their newly acquired skill with their own limitless imaginations to come up with their own works of art. More advanced multiple balloon works are also demonstrated. This program helps students to develop dexterity, creativity and is just plain fun!
