| POLYMER CLAY EGYPTIAN STYLE |

Make Egyptian style jewelry using polymer clay! We will explore hieroglyphs, and various styles of ancient Egyptian jewelry. Students will then be given polymer clay that uses the same colors that dominated Egyptian jewelry (custom mixed clay that simulates lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquiose, obsidian, chyrophase, etc.); texturing in jewelry is also encouraged.
Recommended ages 10 to adult, as we will use crafting knives for some of our work.
Time permitting, the clay can be baked at your facility**- so then participants can string their jewelry before thay leave.

Mary Beth brings feather quills, calligraphy dip pens, parchment, and lettering workbook/style sheets and teaches some calligraphy basics. Please be aware that participants will be using old fashioned methods, and the means liquid ink in use in the room the program is held in- see special requirements.

Learn how to create amazing decorations using just scissors and colored paper. Program focuses on Asian styles of cut paper art, and discusses the history of the art form, and as a Asian New Year's tradition. Includes lots of Asian New year facts, traditions from China, Korea, Tibet and Japan.
A great multi-cultural program, and perfect for curing the 'winter blahs', as the Asian New Year takes place around the end of January to the middle of February!
