Children's author Carol Parenzan Smalley teaches children and their parents simple words from American Sign Language. Using visual aids, the children (with the help of their parents if needed) will create their own rebus stories using sign cards. Program can be geared toward a theme, such as animals, community, family, or general. Smalley is the author of a SparkNotes Chart and a set of flashcards (for Barnes and Noble) on American Sign Language. All materials provided. Target age: Toddlers to Grade 4.

The program includes one hands-on activity illustrating how picture books can be extended into art activities. All art materials provided. Target age: Grades 2 to 7.
