BRAILLE WORKSHOP-How the blind read and writer with fingers Disability Awareness
Ms. Steingold will introduce her new book, Taking Visual Impairment to School. Children will learn about Louis Braille and his wonderful invention of the Braille Code for the blind to read and write with their fingers. Children will have their first name typed in "dots" on the Braillewriter, play the Mystery Word Game, and solve Braille Riddles. Children will learn about cane travel, guide dog, and how the blind adapt to a sighted world. Q&A will be encouraged.
