This workshop starts off with an ordinary block of wood, add some creativity, and we all end up with a musical instrument that originated in Africa over 3,000 years ago! The kalimba was the chosen instrument of travelling troubadours who would retell the history of their tribe in song. 4th grade thru Adults!

Kokopelli was a Native American from the Anasazi tribe who were thought to be ancestors of the modern Pueblo Indians. He announced his arrival into villages by playing a song on his flute. Craft a pendant necklace as we explore the many uses of fleece from our very own Long Island Yarn and Farm llamas (Yaphank). We will read a few Llama,Llama books by Anna Dewdney and learn interesting facts about these camelids. Excellent for Pre-K with caregiver thru 5th grade.
