| Hand's On Assembly |
Nature- Environment, Nature- Animals, Visual Arts- Other |
Robin Brickman begins her program with a Power Point tour of her studio and explanation of her working process. Her books are created with a unique hand-sculpted painting technique that is demonstrated with photos and short movies. The combination of art and science is presented first. Then, students create a hand's on project of their own using Ms. Brickman's technique. This assembly is suitable to all ages and abilities and gives students and staff the confidence to hand sculpt paper on their own!

Nature- Environment, Science, Visual Arts- Other |
Robin Brickman, an award-winning book illustrator, will teach an art
class based on natural science. Everyone will use coloring supplies
on paper, cutting and shaping his or her piece, and then adding a pin
to its back. The pins can be made into any natural item, such as flowers or insects. They can be lovely or quirky. Accuracy will be encouraged.

| Community Mural Workshop |
Nature- Environment, Visual Arts- Painting, Visual Arts- Other |
Robin Brickman is the award-winning illustrator of several children's picturebooks, based primarily on natural science subjects. Her program has two parts: an initial presentation about her illustrations for books, and then a hands-on workshop. First, she will demonstrate her unique cut-paper technique of watercolor, and then she will help the audience make their own cut paper creatures. Robin will bring an original painting from one of her books for inspiration. Her program has been celebrated for its emphasis on art and natural science, its accessibility to all ages, and Robin's ability to connect with all ages and abilities.
