Using scraps of fabric, children will design and put together a crazy quilt type of design that will be glued or ironed on to a fabric background. Adding sewn details is optional. Markers and sequins and other objects can also be used to enhance design.

The swamps are alive with the music of all the creatures that inhabit it. The children will take an imaginary, musical trip through the swamp and meet many of these creatures through songs, finger plays, and stories. They will take turns playing frog guiros (a special musical instrument) and make their own music with cricket clickers.

It's never too early to start preparing! Learn effective ways to prepare and study for school exams and standardized tests. Students will make their own flashcards with index cards. This workshop also offers strategies to anticipate certain types of questions that are commonly asked. This program can be adapted for 4th to 6th graders as well.

In this hour-long program, a Psychologist will teach you easy and fun strategies to help get things done (GTD). You will learn how to set short-term and long-term goals, how to keep a calendar of events, and how to make effective lists. Some other skills include: Productivity, efficiency, team work, and independent thinking.

Who has not wanted to learn how to juggle. Well it takes determination, and proper training. Starting with 1 ball all the way up to 3 ball tricks and 5 ball juggling, Jim teaches all ages and all education levels.

First, we make planting pots out of recycled newspaper, or soil blocks with a press. Then, participants fill their pots with soil and pick from a variety of organic seeds to plant. Last, we make labels so we remember what we are growing! Unlimited transplants can be planted to be taken home or plan a library garden for this program, and it is a great way to get kids excited about summer gardening! Gary, consumer food educator and innovator in the nutritional supplement retail field, will take you on a virtual tour from seed to plate. Learn the difference between how organic food is grown, and how genetically modified (GMO) food is made. Gary will show you how to identify GMO food when shopping, since GMOs are not disclosed on food product labels. How is GMO food symbolized in some TV commercials? We will talk about what you don’t know about conventional food that you need to know. Learn the food connection to the decline of bees and butterflies. Discover the profound link between today’s “food” and our health, allergies - even our IQ. Come away understanding how our food choices affect people, animals and the planet.
