Sometimes life just gets stressful! Learn helpful strategies to manage your stress and anxiety. Includes fun activities moderated by a School Psychologist. It's comforting to know that many others are experiencing similar emotions.

Do you know what an inspiration rock is? These are smooth small white rocks found at your local beach which are painted or colored with inspirational quotes and pictures. These rocks can be used various ways: Kept at home in different rooms, spread around your property or garden, hidden in local parks, or handed to people to keep in their pockets until they feel the positive message is taken in. A facebook page/ social media will soon be developed so teens can upload photos of their beautiful, inspirational rocks!

SONG WRITING for Young Adults Literature- Poetry,

Music
Teens/ Young Adults will learn song structure and have fun creating an original song! Most popular songs have only 3 or 4 chords! With the guidance of the performer on acoustic guitar, participants will create a song by first deciding on the theme and then piecing together lyrics and a melody. The formula is easy....Verses, Pre-chorus, Chorus & then Repeat! Hopefully the program will inspire others to start writing and creating other original music!

Improvising with Music Music
In this program, you will first improvise with percussion instruments and learn about rhythm. The second half of program, participants will take turns improvising on a keyboard accompanied by a chord progression on acoustic guitar played by the presenter. No experience is necessary! You will be guided by a few prompts and improvising only on the "white keys". All you need is your own creativity and love of music!

This program is intended for Junior High or High School students who need a little extra help with any particular subject including geometry, algebra, science, history, and reading/ writing. Organization, study strategies, and test taking tricks will be discussed as well! If taking a high school equivalency exam such as the TASC, tutoring will also be offered. In addition: Can be designed as a SAT PREP course as well! Lead by one teacher, so students may be paired up, and/or individually tutored in intervals, depending on group size and subject material.

The in's and out's of teen parenting in today's world. Learn various techniques and strategies to integrate into your daily life to help keep open the lines of communication with your teen or pre-teens. Other topics include tips about how to motivate teens to be successful.

This program is designed for parents who want to discuss concerns about their college-bound teens. Presented by a School Psychologist, parents will have an opportunity to learn tips to prepare their teens for a new environment whether they are moving out or commuting to college.

4th to 6th grade. Learn new words that describe emotions and behaviors. Also, play a Jumble game: unscramble letters to spell out various emotions.

A program offered by an experienced School Psychologist for parents with children in Special Education. Questions and answers about various topics. Topics range from the 13 special education classifications to support services public schools provide.
