We present two programs about Spooks and Magic this summer. "I Sea a Sea Monster" explores how legends like the Lock Ness and Mermaids originate - and kids create their own Sea Monster with clay and Monster Goo. In "Wands, Wizards, and Waves," kids learn about sailors' supersitions at sea, visit a Potions Table, and create their own wands. Our programs present hands-on activities, take-home crafts, and fun experiments. We are accredited (by American Association of Museums) and insured; programs are taught by certified educators. Dark & Delicious / Starry Starry Night / Sleepy Salves Life Skills- Food,

We present three programs for teens this summer. In "Dark and Delicious," learn how to create a chocolate painting using melted dark chocolate. Use artifacts for inspiration to sketch a monochromatic scene that you can eat! In "Starry Starry Night," explore ways artists have captured the night and use charcoal and watercolor to create a nightscape. All materials supplied. In "Sleepy Salves," mix up soothing masks with sea salts and other creations to become part of your nightly routine. Use lavender scents, fill a tea bag with chamomile, and go home with your creations.

Explore how whales and nocturnal animals use the amazing world of sounds to get around in the dark. Touch a whale earbone and test your own ears by trying hands-on sound experiment stations with tuning forks, vibrating shakers, and other instruments. Create your own musical instrument.

We offer several programs focusing on dark themes this summer. In "Lighthouses After Dark," learn about lighthouses around the world, discover how their lenses work, and use a compass to find out how lighthouses show the way. Try out the job of a lighthouse keeper and create your own flickering lighthouse. In "Dolphin Shadows," learn about the smallest whale -the dolphin! Discover how they move, eat, and grow. Touch a dolphin bone and step in front of a blue light to watch your dolphin shadow puppet swim. Our programs present hands-on activities, take-home crafts, and fun experiments. In "Tides and Treats," learn about phases of the moon, star constellations, and decorate constellations on cookies using icing and sprinkles. In "Blastoff to the Stars" discover ways people have gotten around through the years, from wooden sailships to rocketships. Touch ship tools and learn how rockets take off - create your own flying rocket. Our programs present hands-on activities, take-home crafts, and fun experiments.
