Vacationing with Your Digital Camera Media- Photography
If you've ever come home from vacation and been disappointed with your photos, this class will help. Photography Instructor Jeff Montanye will teach some easy-to-use and easy-to-remember techniques that will get you excited about photographing your vacation this year. From what to photograph and when to photograph to how to photograph those vacation memories. Including composition, posing people, camera settings and equipment to use. This is a 2 hour beginner class for libraries and is good for any type of camera.

Turn Your Cell Phone Camera into a DSLR? Media- Photography
If you want to get a little more quality from your cell phone camera photography this class is for you. The class introduces some great apps and techniques to squeeze a bit more quality out of your cell phone camera. Learn ISO, white balance, shutter speed, HDR, single point focus, long exposure and more. Your cell phone may never become your DSLR replacement but it can do a lot better than the default app that comes with the phone. The class is based on the iPhone but these apps and techniques can work for any smart phone.

A quick introduction to WordPress. WordPress is free web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. This class introduces you to WorPress and gets you started down the road on running and maintaining your own website or blog.

Google Apps Class Life Skills- Other
Google has become far more than a search engine. Google is now putting programs online including applications for Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentations, website design, email, calendars and more without installing a single program on your computer. The best thing about it is that these programs are free. This class will teach you how to create a Google account and use all of Google's free services. You should be familiar with using your computer to visit websites with your web browser before taking this class. There will be a $5.00 charge at the first day of class for a project book needed during the class. The book can be downloaded from the class website (classes.assistacomp.com) at no charge however you need to print it out and bring it with you on the first day of the class.

Digital Photography Class Life Skills- Other,

A short version of our digital photography training classes designed for Libraries and other organizations. This class teaches all about the digital camera including tips and techniques to improve your photographs. You’ll learn about techniques such as rule of thirds and depth of field. The class also covers some of the features built into your camera and how to use them. You’ll learn which features will improve your pictures and which ones to avoid. We’ll cover white balance, zoom, flash, focus, ISO, scene settings and more. Beginner photographers are welcome and any type of digital camera can be used.

A Beginers Guide to Windows 10 class Life Skills- Other
New computers are now shipping with Windows 10. Microsoft is also offering a free upgrade to Windows 10 if you already own Windows 7 or 8. This class will show you how to install the update and will help you transition smoothly from your previous version of Windows. Microsoft has been struggling to switch to the new start screen and apps with much resistance from their customers. Windows 10 introduces yet another option for accessing your programs. In this class you'll learn the new features of Windows 10 and the difference between Applications and Programs. We'll also show you how to make your Windows 10 computer look and work like the older versions you are more familiar with. You will even learn how to keep the Windows 8 start screen if you prefer that interface. This class will take you through the basics and point you in the right direction. This is a lecture class only with demonstrations on an over-head projector. You are encouraged to bring your own Windows 10 laptop if you wish to follow along.

Use software you already have on your computer and free software provided in the class to write your book. Your book will be available for sale on Amazon, Barns & Noble and other online shops the next day. This class will show you how.

How to Sell on eBay Class Life Skills- Other
This class teaches you how to find items to sell and how to determine their value. Learn the proper way to create a listing that will drive more bidders to your auction. You will also learn techniques to get the best photographs and descriptions of your items, how to leave feedback and use your eBay account to track your auctions. We will list an item on eBay and expose secrets and tips as we explain each step along the way.
