Using materials that literally fit in your pocket, you will learn how to transform ephemera, found objects, unusual materials, flora, photographs and a bit of bling into a pint-sized collage ready to hang on the wall as is or frame. Your one of a kind art piece, composed from the interesting remnants of life as we travel through will make a wonderful memento or gift. Principles of design, composition and construction will be taught. No experience necessary.

Zumba Gold has all the fun, fire and fitness objectives of regular Zumba but brings the intensity down a notch. Steps are taught in a safe, easy, progressive manner whether sitting or standing. Moving to the exciting rhythms of Latin, swing, tango, pop and international music becomes a party while it delivers fitness results. This class is designed for those new to Zumba, the active, older adult as well as for those who want to shimmy in their seats. Bring a water bottle and clothes to move in to this engaging, upbeat class!

Zumba Kids is a specially designed dance-fitness program developed for children aged 7-11 and 4-6 (Zumba Kids Jr.). Besides creating a fun, exciting, party-like way to exercise, goals include increasing focus, confidence, coordination, memory, teamwork, rhythm and self-expression. Music and moves are child friendly, easy to follow and draw from Latin, pop, and world music. Rhythm play and dance games add zest and variety. Working from a selection of fresh tulips in artful arrangements, you will learn how to draw and paint these bold yet delicate flowers. Guidance will be provided in how to really see their lively, changeable form, mix their brilliant colors and create an engaging composition. Visual references from Modern Masters and mood music will assist the creative process. You will leave class with a new passion for tulips and an original painting on canvas.

RECYCLE THE EARTH WEAVINGS Nature- Environment,

Class will focus on how to rebuild our earth with an easy weaving project that re-uses, re-purposes and recycles commonly discarded materials, such as junk mail, plastic bags, packaging wraps and more!. Easy weaving and knotting techniques on a cardboard loom will be taught for all age levels and ability. Participants will weave an earth conscious motto into their weaving. Finished pieces are ready for hanging on wall. Inspiring examples of weaving from diverse cultures will be shown and environmentally conscious practices will be discussed. Class is taught by award-winning artist/Board Member of the Long Island Craft Guild, art educator and passionate conservationist. Great for Earth Day and every day!

Gustav Klimt, the Viennese Art Nouveau painter, created dazzling, gold leaf paintings that are well loved today. The Tree of Life painting is one of the most popular. In this class, participants will draw, paint and collage their own Tree of Life images to honor the people and things they hold dear. Symbolic shapes will be developed (when age-appropriate) to emulate Klimt's use of decorative symbolism to add meaning and creative interest. Step-by-step guidance will be provided for younger ages and special needs. Gold paint and special touches create beautiful results! Exciting visuals will inspire all.

In this class you will create a charming, colorful miniature weaving--perfect for framing-- as you learn how to understand and weave several different easy patterns. The Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky, was considered the father of modern art. See why as you study his lyrical and colorful images and learn about his intense synthesis of music and color. While listening to music you will learn how to use expressive gesture and how to simplify and abstract a landscape image of your choice. Materials include watercolors and colored pencils. Interesting examples of his work and commentary will inspire your own modern masterpiece.
