I HAVE WRITTEN OVER 1,500 ARTICLE. I TEACH PARTICIPANTS TO WRITE ARTICLES FOR LOCAL PUBLICATIONS ABOUT SUBJECTS THEY KNOW ABOUT. I TEACH THEM HOW TO USE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY TO ENHANCE THEIR ARTICLES. I TEACH THEM HOW TO GAIN WRITING EXPERIENCE AND MONEY FROM WRITING FOR THE INTERNET. I TEACH THEM HOW TO GET A BOOK PUBLISHED AT NO COST. STUDENTS DISCUSS WORK THEY ARE PRESENTLY WORKING ON AND HOW TO TARGET NEW AUDIENCES.

ORPHAN TRAIN RIDERS----I am the author of 2 books on the subject. The largest mass relocation of children in America took place during the orphan train era 1854-1929. Over 400,000 children were transported by rail out of NYC and major cities. They were America's first foster children. I do a lecture/video presentation. Life in the 19th Century could be brutal. When adults fell victim to alcoholism, job loss, or drugs, the children were the first to suffer.

I hone their writing skills and point out grammatical errors and things to avoid. I teach them to be passionate about what they write and to know their subject. My friend is a publisher and he speaks from the editor'publisher viewpoint. Together we have a lively panel discussion and people leave motivated to write articles with new enthusiasm.

Each child receives an album and hundreds of stamps and learns the history of postal services from a book I wrote. They soak stamps off paper and mount dry stamps into their albums. They are shown rare stamps and learn valuations. At the end of a 45 minute session they have a hobby that could last a lifetime and an album filled with stamps.

WHEN PARENTS LOST A JOB OR BECAME ADDICTED TO ALCOHOL, THEIR CHILDREN WERE THE FIRST TO SUFFER. I ALSO DISCUSS THE GREAT WORK DONE BY TEMPERANCE AGENCIES IN AISING CHILDREN DURING THIS TIME.
