There is debate over the meaning of the word organic. This lively presentation will explore the truth about organic foods, covering organic meats, vegetables and other foods.

Many people can’t tell the difference between a reported news article, a persuasive opinion piece, and a corporate ad. This lack of media literacy makes us all vulnerable to getting duped by “fake news” - which can have real consequences. We use the web every day and everyone needs to be better at interpreting what they read there. This program will explore the many tools that you can use to search for the truth and offer tips on spotting fake news.

I am a geologist, and I travel around the US collecting dinosaur fossils. In this program I explain how I locate the fossils, and the types of fossils that can be found. During the talk, I will show samples of my fossils including teeth, bones, footprints, eggshells, gastroliths, coprolites and amber.
