Listen Closely (Preschool Workshop) Other,
Science
**Listen Closely** This workshop will introduce students to the science behind the sounds all around them. Children will experiment with a wave motion model and a twirling tube to help them understand that sound travels in waves and can be heard in a variety pitches. They will also have the opportunity to learn about the everyday materials that make a variety of special effects noises in the movies and will watch, and hear, a bee buzz above their heads. These are programs specifically designed for children ages 3 and 4, and take place at your location. Our only requirements are: a room that can be darkened if needed, with tables and chairs where the children can work comfortably; a small table to set up our equipment and access to water and electricity. The children perform experiments, participate in demonstrations and, for most workshops, there is a take home item for each child at the end of the program.

Rocket Science (Hands-On Workshop) Other,

** Rocket science** This is your chance to be a rocket scientist! Investigate the four forces of flight with the help of a Unique Flying Object. Explore the science involved in the rocket construction as you build your own “Mad Science Skyblazer II Rocket” that you can take home Mad Science Enrichment Programs are fun explorations into science and technology, and they encourage informal learning through hands-on experience. All Mad Science workshops include a lot of fascinating equipment, supplies, and take-home materials which the children build themselves. The Mad Science mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere by providing them with fun, entertaining, and educational activities which instill a clear understanding of what science really is, and how it affects the world around them.

**Weather Wonders** Wind, Water, and Heat are the three components of weather. Your mini meteorologists attempt to learn the mysteries behind our weather patterns. These are programs specifically designed for children ages 3 and 4, and take place at your location. Our only requirements are: a room that can be darkened if needed, with tables and chairs where the children can work comfortably; a small table to set up our equipment and access to water and electricity. The children perform experiments, participate in demonstrations and, for most workshops, there is a take home item for each child at the end of the program.

Get ready for some sizzling excitement! Join us for SAFE and scientific fun with fire and ice! Witness and learn about the amazing properties of fire. Then, cool off with spectacular demonstrations involving dry ice! Check out the “Big Burp”, the “Screwdriver Sizzle” and the famous “Mad Science Bath”, as we will explore the science behind this amazing frozen gas. The Mad Science shows provide live, interactive and compelling educational experiences that make learning a blast!

**Current Events** Take a tour on the electron freeway! Conductors, insulators, and other elements in the world of circuit electricity introduce themselves to you via the tingle in your fingertips and the twinkle in your eye. You’ll leave the workshop with a “Mad Science Power Pendant” (for grades K-2) or the “Mad Science Technicolor Blender” (for grades 3-5). Mad Science Enrichment Programs are fun explorations into science and technology, and they encourage informal learning through hands-on experience. **Shapes and Structures** Children will discover different shapes and structures by using different kinds of equipment like Geoboards and Magnatiles. They will create their own shapes and structures to take home. These are programs specifically designed for children ages 3 and 4, and take place at your location.
