Carol Parenzan Smalley is the author of Tell Your Parents: Green Changes You Can Make Around the Home, fresh off the press in 2009 by Mitchell Lane Publishers, a leader in education publishing. An alternative will be to use a box demo garden to inspire patrons of all ages to be aware of where their food comes from and to eat local. I will also talk about farming green (using real live horse power), heirloom seeds and seed saving, environmental conservation using butterflies, and horse rescue and rehabilitation. This program is suitable for the 2013 summer reading program.
