Kids, bring your family, friends, caregivers, neighbors and head to your local library on foot, bike or car. Once there, Andy The Music Man will offer an age-appropriate, fun- filled, energetic, educational musical program for pre-schoolers through 3rd graders. Ready, Set, Sing! participants will sing, dance, play-act and hear stories in song as they learn about summer activities, nutrition, vocabulary, transportation, animals and much more. Children will be encouraged at the end of the program to hunt for books about the subjects they have sung about. Ready, Set, Sing! is a great combination for your mind and body.

Learn the basics of soap making and then make your own soap to take home. This class will discuss the types of artisan soap making that exists from cold and hot processed soap to melt and pour. Students will see a demonstration of melt and pour soap making and take home a sample from class. Each participant will play an active role in this soap making adventure! *SPECIAL NOTE-THIS CLASS IS LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS $275

We will read Grandfathers Pencil and The Room of Stories by Michael Forman. Then design and create the cover of a sketching pad for imaginative drawings and stories with twines, natural elements, stickers, etc. Of course, grandfathers pencil is included!

Using a variety of songs and instruments, and her collection of BOOKS THAT SING, Nan's presentations are fun and informative and encourage audience participation. Complementing the 2019 SRP theme of A UNIVERSE OF STORIES!, programs will focus on making space in our lives for reading and music and how they are intertwined! Both can carry us to faraway and unexplored places, arousing our imaginations and enriching our knowledge of many topics, including our history, family and community,and nature and the environment.

One of my favorite recycling projects using paper, many choices of beads, silver spacers, and your creativity. The possibilities are endless: make a unisex bracelet by stringing beads onto elastic to be worn doubled on the wrist. Keep your tool and bring home anyextra beads you make for future projects. This is a wonderful workshop for grades 3 and up. YA's and Adults also!

Yearning to stay creative while traveling...eager to turn down time into art time? Want to capture the essence of a place or person while on the go? This class will show you how. Using materials that literally fit in your pocket, you will learn how to transform ephemera, found objects, unusual materials, flora, photographs and a bit of bling into a pint-sized collage ready to hang on the wall as is or frame. Your one of a kind art piece, composed from the interesting remnants of life as we travel through will make a wonderful memento or gift. Principles of design, composition and construction will be taught. No experience necessary.

Available the last 3 weeks of March only! Learn about how bunnies are born and develop in the first two weeks of their life while looking at actual photos, hold and pet babies in laps and watch funny circle play time! This program is popular with the pre-school age group. It is also alot of fun for school age kids and YA's! I can discuss in more depth about caring for a rabbit, lifespan, genetics,gestational period, predator and prey, etc.

We All Sing Together For A Better World! is an inspiring and uplifting program where audience members young and old delight in joining in the fun and singing along. In her inimitable and magical way, Story Laurie seamlessly weaves together songs and stories about caring for the Earth and for one another. Story Laurie has a knack for making us laugh while also helping us to think deeply about the kind of world we want to live in and how, by working (& singing!) together, we can all achieve that world. Folk tales, myths, songs both new and old, and real life stories of people doing wondrous things -- all come to life in the hands of this world-wise yet home-grown children’s performer. If ever there were a performer for our times, Story Laurie is IT!

Horses are majestic creatures, and people of all ages appreciate their beauty. This is an opportunity to wear handmade jewelry made out of mane or tail hairs that shed during routine grooming. Several hair colors to choose from (red, white, yellow, black, grey, and brown). Traditionally these are braided pieces - but participants are encouraged to use their imaginations and create whatever they dream up with the materials provided. Horse themed cameos, beads, stones, and other adornments are featured. An unlimited number of items can be made in the time scheduled. Learn to make soap the old fashioned way! This program allows participants to craft their own soap with a variety of molds and natural additions such as hibiscus flowers, jojoba, lavender, vanilla beans, the sky is the limit! This program is tailored to your library audience. For younger children can use a melt and pour soap, and older teens can watch a demonstration of the chemical reaction between lye and lipids. This fits nicely with Laura Ingalls Wilder's 'Little House' books, and some libraries use it as the finale to a story time featuring one to give patrons a real life experience.
