With the theme "Dig Into Reading", I'm thinking of a cereal bowl with books inside and 2 spoons digging in. I am a family musical interactive comedian and I'm also a published author. My book is called "Spoon Boy". I also offer a workshop for teens and adults called BYOS (Bring Your Own Silverware). My web site is www.SpoonMan.biz . I have my library brochure, video clips and info about my book on my web site. My program is around 45 minutes. With multiple bookings (on the same day), I can be as inexpensive as $300 per show. I don't mind driving an hour or more between libraries.

Costumed portrayals of Clara Barton, Emily Dickinson, Amelia Earhart, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Each program focuses on one woman, telling about her life, visions, and contributions to society. Apropriate for ages 8 through adult. Clara Barton - portrays her activiities during the Civil War and her role in founding the American Red Cross. . Emily Dickinson - shares her thoughts about nature, personal relationships, love, and death through dialogue and her poems. Amelia Earhart - describes her passion for flying detailing some of her flights. The adult version shares her unusual view of marriage and presents her strong feelings about the role of women in society. Elizabeth Cady Stanton - describes the inequities that women experienced in the 1800s and her role in starting the first Women's Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls, NY in 1848. She stresses the need for equal rights for women, especially the right to vote. Brochures are available with further information.

Tommy (Tom Gardner) from The Uncle Brothers presents an upbeat, interactive and parent friendly show, and loaded with important messages like reading, value of libraries, respect, using imagination, and many others. Having fun is our primary goal so that messages are absorbed. -Over 220 parents and kids thoroughly enjoyed your lively and entertaining music!- Jim Karge, Saratogo Springs Public Library Note: This show is different than Tommy's show for younger children because the songs are aimed at the older children (5-10), but the younger ones love it as well. The program is very similar to the Uncle Brothers family concert, except the kids are more a part of the show.

Many stories are available. All of our stories are designed to include the audience. In my case, the children will come on stage and dress up as some of the characters. Stories include - But No Elephants ( accept those who are different), Albert the Turkey (hard work pays off),Abalard the Lost Lamb(do what your parents ask you to). You'll love these stories and really appreciate the messages.

A veteran clown, Har-Har Harry puts on a hilarious and spellbinding show that is full of gags, laughs and life lessons. With over twenty years of experience under his belt, Jeff Boyer is a versatile performer who has studied with the Boston Shakespeare Company and has performed extensively for adults as well as children.

Climb aboard a packet boat and back in time with Merry Mischief's Tales & Tunes along the Towpath! Merry Mischief is an costumed acoustic duo(Merlyn & Harry) who come dressed as Canal Travelers and entertain your audience with music and historical facts from the Erie Canal. Music from the time of the Erie Canal and American folk music with it's wild and wooly history, along with poetry (and of course, a few fun jokes :) makes this a great community and/or reading program! A fun way to make History come ALIVE! Program suitable for the young to the seasoned adult.

Robert Austin Performs magic shows in three different sizes depending on the venue. The two most popular sizes for libraries and small venues are his one and two person show with lots of audience participation and actually using someone from the audience to float in the air and saw in half. Our three person show includes three large illusions other than the ones mentioned before and lots of audience participation. Robert has been performing his magic for over 20 years and has appeared on such shows as LAW AND ORDER,LAW AND ORDER:TRIAL BY JURY, THE JURY, NBC's ED, and in the movies SPIDER-MAN II, THE INTERPRETER, TAXI and JUST MY LUCK. MOST SHOWS NOW INCLUDE LIVE SMALL ANIMALS!!!

Open Hand Theater creates original performances based on the performance traditions of cultures around the world. Grandfather Frost weaves his magic through the Russian forest in a tale spun by Baba Yaga and her mischievous cat. Featuring Vladimir Vasyagin, our international artist in residence from Tomsk, Siberia, this traditional story introduces Russian heritage through its folk characters, music and unique style of puppetry.
