Soar with magical caped crusader Ron Cain in his high-flying Superhero Hocus Pocu” show! The Central New York magician celebrates superheroes from film and fiction in new magic show inspired by the summer reading program theme, Every Hero Has a Story. Young readers assist Ron with tricks demonstrating the powers of popular superheroes like Batman and Wonder Woman. One illusion features our favorite heroes battling the villainous Book Beetle, scourge of librarians everywhere. In addition to his 45-minute show, Ron has created a one-hour Super Fun with Superheroes workshop for schools and libraries. The former teacher uses activities illustrating the Superhero Code to help students tap into their super selves and become the heroes of their own life stories.

Thomas Comma (24 minutes), an animated film based on a story by poet Martha Baird, is the charming, humorous, and also sophisticated adventure of a lonely comma looking for the right sentence--that which truly represents him in this world. This 2D film will not only delight and inspire children and adults alike, but also encourage and educate them. "We're all of us like commas," wrote Ms. Baird, "looking for the right sentence." Following the film, Ken Kimmelman, Emmy Award winning filmmaker (Imageryfilm.com), gives an exciting talk on the making of the film and its meaning.

Here is a fun program exploring the history of one of America's greatest comedy teams. This program explains the history of Bud and Lou, from their introduction right through their years in Burlesque, Radio and finally the Motion Picture screen. We focus quite a bit on the WWII era films, and we also discuss their career lags, rebirth and finally their split up and solo careers. Program uses DVD footage of various routines that have made them famous, including Who's On First, Susquehanna Hat Company and Slowly I Turn, Step by Step. Fun program that works in whatever time slot you have for it.

My one woman show addresses ageism in America. It encourages the audience to take pride, ownership, and joy in their age, no matter the number. We are all ageless wonders. I am in my early 60's and aiming to help millenials to be the change for their generation! We will all get wrinkles and not look as good, and the younger generation needs to rethink how they view us olders. The show is musical, storytelling, dramedy, multi-media of me at different ages, and spiritual. I also make hats and do an interactive hat performance! Here is an excellent follow up program for those who booked the World War One As Seen Through Hollywood's Lens seminar. This program details the aim of Hollywood in its rally call to produce propaganda films that would persuade the American people to wholeheartedly join the war effort. By pulling together some of Hollywood's top talent (many of whom were already in active service via the armed forces), Hollywood proved to be vitally instrumental in drumming up the force needed to help the allies win the war. Hear the history of how all of this unfolded, and see clips from some of the most famous propaganda films produced in Tinsel Town including Casablanca (1942), Joan of Paris (1942), A Yank on the Burma Road (1942), as well as countless others. We even explore the use of loaded imagery in various other genres including musicals, horror, animation and more! Excellent program for the Memorial Day weekend and the months leading up to it.

With the Marx Brothers being masters of both visual and verbal humor, the audience will regale in laughter as we view clips of the Marx Brothers and view a documentary on their careers. Then the audience will enjoy an educational history of the trio as explained through lecture and memorabilia. This is a 90 minute program complete with a DVD presentation.

Folks, this a first as far as my presentations go. Here is another delightful program that you can bring the whole family to. Watch as I recount the history of animation and cartoons from the earliest days of the cinema to it's glory days on National TV syndication which in turn resulted in made for TV cartoons. The highlight of this program includes a 16mm film presentation of classic animation made for the movie houses and cartoons made for TV. Come and see your favorites, from Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd to Huckleberry Hound and The Pink Panther, this is a program that will not disappoint the young and old alike.
