60 Seconds of Thrills and Chills: Advertising Horror, Sci-fi and Fantasy films of the 1950's, 60's and 70's History,
Media- Film,
Media- Other
Here is a knockout of a show, as we explore the way movie theaters exhibited horror and sci-fi films and literally feed a hungry teenage audience by promising them the “thrill of a life time” with posters, lobby cards, stills and of course the theatrical prevue. This is a fantastic time capsule of the 1950's and 60's and the way motion pictures were advertised. Here you get a parade (50 minutes worth) of 16mm film previews plus a whole host of movie memorabilia in this two hour fun-a-thon.
$101- $200
The History of Sci-fi in Cinema: 1940 -58 History,
Media- Film,
Media- Other
This is a fantastic study of the history of science fiction cinema from the early days of silent cinema to the most recent examples of big budget effects laden fantasy films. We'll screen some digest Castle Films to exemplify Sci-Fi cinema at it's best; Man Made Monster (1940), Dr. Cyclops (1940), One Million BC (1940), as well as It Came from Outer Space (1953), Tarantula (1955), The Creature Walks Among Us (1956), and The Incredible Shrinking Man (1958). This is my second most requested show and comes with the whole two hour nostalgia memorabilia presentation and history lesson.
$101- $200
The Politics of Persuasion - Folk Music and the 1960's Media- Film,
Media- Other,
Music
The Politics of Persuasion - Folk Music and the 1960's: During our recent times of political turmoil and indecision, one of the best ways to put life into perspective is to journey back into the 1960's and reevaluate the movement and the songs of the artists who broached the topics of the time. Join us as we watch clips and see such artists as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Tom Rush, Donovan, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and many many more. Come and be inspired by the music and investigate the invigorating feeling of taking control of one's own destiny. Along with the performances we'll also discuss the history of folk music and its importance in helping shape the America we live in today.
$101- $200
