| Moreland, David | 'Dig Into Reading' Magic Show |
Performing Arts- Magic |
‘Archeologist Dave’ is trying to unearth the treasure hidden in your library, but will he be able to find it? That’s the question everyone at your library will be asking during my ‘Dig Into Reading’ magic show.
This summer’s show will be filled with comedy, magic, and audience participation -- including an original skit starring members of the audience!
As with all my library shows, ‘Dig Into Reading’ will be all about the fun of reading and visiting your library all summer long. It's like a goofy, wildly entertaining 45-minute commercial for YOUR library.
Here are some responses to my Summer '12 show:
“Our patrons – kids and adults -- had such a blast! There are very few performers I will hire, due to quality of performance and budgets, but this is one of the best...worth every penny.”
-Penny Meskos, Fayetteville Free Library
“Loved it… one of the best… you appealed to both children and adults which is rare.”
-Sara Knobel, Groton Public Library
“Excellent. You easily kept the attention of 100 children and 40 adults. You are definitely a professional.”
-Linda Poelma, Cuba Circulating Library

| Cain, Ron | A Magical Trip to the Titanic |
History, Performing Arts- Magic, Performing Arts- Storytelling |
Join magician Ron Cain on “A Magical Trip to the Titanic,” a magic show that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the ship's sinking. The luxury liner hit an iceberg the night of April 14, 1912, on its maiden voyage from England to New York. Only one-third of the 2,200 people aboard survived.
Cain appears as a magical time traveler who takes young audiences back to the time of the Titanic. Children help perform tricks that depict what life was like on the “jewel of the White Star Line.” Illusions also feature key figures from history and highlight elements of the tragedy that led to improvements in maritime safety.
A Syracuse University graduate and former teacher, Ron performs educational magic shows for libraries and schools throughout the Northeast. Each year, he presents a show highlighting the summer reading program theme.
Shows include the Magic of Being Green, Wide World of Magic, Tune In To Magical Idol, Uncle Sam's Magic of America, Wandering Wizard Show, Capt. HurriCain’s Seaside Magic Show, Tex the Cowboy Magician's Wild West Show, and The Case of the Missing Bunny.
