It is a creative exploration of the genre and how it is part of the fabric of music that students hear on commercials, movies and around their families. Jeff and his network of talented professional musicians weave a performance and discussion of musical genres ranging from today’s chart toppers, to blues, classic R&B, to American folk. Students will enjoy a moving performance, while learning to hear and appreciate how many of the rhythmic patterns and musical elements trace back to jazz. Thus allowing students to listen to Jazz with a greater understanding and appreciation for the genre.
