| Rogers, Robert | Professor Pennywhistle and the Round the World Story Balloon |
Multicultural- Other, Performing Arts- Theater, Performing Arts- Puppetry |
Imagine a magical balloon that knows when and how to touch down in the most exotic places right in the middle of a story, just at the most important moment. This is the invention of Professor Pennywhistle, whose curiosity and enthusiasm about exploring the world takes him - and us - to the most surprising places. It's a celebration of diversity - and more important - the common things that people share all around the globe.
We'll visit the arid landscape of Africa, where the animals must remember the name of a tree that will drop its fruit only if they can shout it out loud; the Palace of the Emperor of China, who has lost his best friend - a nightingale - and doesn't know what to do; a little cottage in the woods of France, where an elderly woman learns the secret of a soup made from only a stone. And finally, we'll return to the good old U.S.A. and meet Pecos Bill, America's first cowboy, and help him lasso a wild tornado.
We live in a big, wide, wonderful world, and Professor Pennywhistle is more than happy to be our tour guide.
