| Cain, Ron | A Magical Trip to the Titanic |
History, Performing Arts- Magic, Performing Arts- Storytelling |
Join magician Ron Cain on “A Magical Trip to the Titanic,” a magic show that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the ship's sinking. The luxury liner hit an iceberg the night of April 14, 1912, on its maiden voyage from England to New York. Only one-third of the 2,200 people aboard survived.
Cain appears as a magical time traveler who takes young audiences back to the time of the Titanic. Children help perform tricks that depict what life was like on the “jewel of the White Star Line.” Illusions also feature key figures from history and highlight elements of the tragedy that led to improvements in maritime safety.
A Syracuse University graduate and former teacher, Ron performs educational magic shows for libraries and schools throughout the Northeast. Each year, he presents a show highlighting the summer reading program theme.
Shows include the Magic of Being Green, Wide World of Magic, Tune In To Magical Idol, Uncle Sam's Magic of America, Wandering Wizard Show, Capt. HurriCain’s Seaside Magic Show, Tex the Cowboy Magician's Wild West Show, and The Case of the Missing Bunny.

Performing Arts- Storytelling |
Along time ago people asked questions of the wisest men and women and women in their tribes. They wanted to know how their natural world came to be and why things happened as they did. The wise storytellers answered the peoples' questions with myths and legends handed down through generations.
In my program we'll tell some of those stories and create one of our own by asking a How or Why questions and answering it with a story. We may decide we want to know Why the wolf howls at the moon? or How butterflies got their name.

Performing Arts- Magic, Performing Arts- Theater, Science |
THE SCIENCE OF MAGIC.
Arthur C. Clark once wrote that “sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” and today we live in the age of technology. We are surrounded by magic. In the first half of this show “Boyer the Magnificent” entertains and amazes us with several classic magic illusions. Objects change colors, light bulbs blaze to life with no apparent power source, and spheres levitate before us. Is this magic?
“Professor Boyer” says “No!” In the second half of the show he performs these same feats using the tools of modern technology. Explaining laws of physics as he goes, the professor teaches the audience the principles that make these astounding demonstrations possible.
Throughout the show volunteers are brought up on stage to participate in an event that amuses, amazes, educates and entertains.
