Customize your own natural body or foot scrub. Mrs. Kathy will demonstrate how to make a body or foot scrub using different scented essential oils. Participants will then pick a scent and make their own scrub and put it in a jar and decorate with ribbon. Holiday-themed scents available. Great as a gift or to keep for yourself. Some scents include coconut, lemon, vanilla, peppermint, lavender and more.

After a demonstration, participants will follow a recipe to measure and mix all the ingredients to make the muffins. We will bake the muffins on my mini muffin maker right in the library. Participants will use pastry bags to apply their choice of colored icing. This class does require and extra 15 minutes due to baking in library.

Did you know that plants can grow from cuttings and not just seeds? Would you like to learn how to graft scions and choose root stocks? What hormonal treatments or media should be used to encourage growth, and what is the science behind it? Maybe you do not possess a green thumb, but always dreamed of having a beautiful garden. This program will inspire young and old alike to collect coleus, jade, violet, and other easy to propagate plants, and dive into citrus and other exotics to enrich their lives and give everyone the opportunity to grow an amazing garden. Participants may bring home cuttings and seeds to sow at home or in the vacant lot next door. This session is offered as part of the popular in-house library program known as the Parent/Toddler or Parent/Child Workshop. Dara Linthwaite will be happy to talk with parents and caregivers about ways to use music with their young children and answer any questions they may have. Dara has worked as a kindergarten teacher in a private school for gifted children, as well as a music teacher in a preschool for children with developmental disabilities. If you'd like, let Dara and her guitar conduct circle time for the last 15-20 minutes of the program and watch the little ones dance and sing with glee!

In this workshop the attendees will : • Learn how to set short term goals • Learn how to set long term goals • Begin working on a vision board A vision board is a fun, creative tool to help clarify and maintain focus on one’s goals. All materials will be provided.

Jump with Jill is a professional live show that travels the country transforming nutrition education into a rock & roll nutrition concert. The school assembly takes childhood obesity by storm, serving as a kid-appropriate approach for kicking off wellness committee initiatives, reinforcing classroom learning, and supporting a healthier cafeteria menu. The show is both educationally sound and completely rock & roll. Armed with catchy songs, upbeat dance moves, and a hip wardrobe, Jump with Jill uses the same tools normally used to sell junk food and keep kids sedentary to get kids engaged, moving, and learning about healthy habits. The live Jump with Jill show has been performed live 3,000 times for almost a million kids all over the United States, Canada, and Europe.
