We will read Grandfathers Pencil and The Room of Stories by Michael Forman. Then design and create the cover of a sketching pad for imaginative drawings and stories with twines, natural elements, stickers, etc. Of course, grandfathers pencil is included!

Mancala is one of a family of board games played around the world, sometimes called count and capture games. It is played on a board made up of 12 cups and 2 stores. Participants will make their own board and learn how to play the Kalah version of Mancala, by moving the 36 stones, shells or beads around the cups, whoever has the most pieces in their store at the end wins! Lots of fun for Teens also!

The traditional music of indigenous Australians holds a lot of meaning to their culture. Music is used to teach about nature, everyday tasks, and history all learned by imitation and passed on without the written word. We will decorate them with traditional dot painting.
