Llamas were first domesticated and used as pack animals 4-5,000 years ago by Indians in the rocky Peruvian highlands. Craft a pendant necklace as we explore the many uses of fleece from our very own Long Island Yarn and Farm llamas (Yaphank). We will read a few Llama,Llama books by Anna Dewdney and learn interesting facts about these camelids. Excellent for Pre-K with caregiver thru 5th grade.

Play detective around your yard and see if you can find where our feather friends used these soft treasures. Learn about local birds and their nests.

Mancala is one of a family of board games played around the world, sometimes called count and capture games. It is played on a board made up of 12 cups and 2 stores. Participants will make their own board and learn how to play the Kalah version of Mancala, by moving the 36 stones, shells or beads around the cups, whoever has the most pieces in their store at the end wins! Lots of fun for Teens also!
