Zumba's dance party atmosphere creates an engaging way for physically disabled and developmentally disabled populations,including people on the autistic spectrum to get fit while having fun. The exciting rhythms of Latin, International and pop music encourage even timid participants to shimmy, shake and shout while gaining valuable personal, interpersonal and fitness benefits. Objectives include increased self-confidence, focus, coordination, mastery, self-initiative, endurance as well as having an incredibly good time. This class is taught by licensed and experienced Zumba instructor and seasoned creative arts therapist.

Bedka, Dr. Kathy American Sign Language for Beginners Disability Awareness,

This class is designed to introduce students to American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is the natural and visual-gestural language used by deaf and hard of hearing people in the United States. In this class, students will learn the manual alphabet, numbers, vocabulary and facial expressions. Specifically: introducing oneself, asking and giving names, asking yes/no and wh-questions, exchanging personal information, and commonly used phrases. Come join us for this exciting new class!

This session is offered as part of the popular in-house library program known as the Parent/Toddler or Parent/Child Workshop. Dara Linthwaite will be happy to talk with parents and caregivers about ways to use music with their young children and answer any questions they may have. Dara has worked as a kindergarten teacher in a private school for gifted children, as well as a music teacher in a preschool for children with developmental disabilities. If you'd like, let Dara and her guitar conduct circle time for the last 15-20 minutes of the program and watch the little ones dance and sing with glee!

This workshop explores the definition of a bully, various types of bullying, and how to effectively manage other peers who assert their dominance. This workshop also teaches ways to increase your confidence and advocate for yourself. Story telling and role playing to illustrate scenarios.

In this program, a School Psychologist will teach various play therapy games which are easy to learn and fun to play for any age. Parents will be able to teach their children how to better manage their emotions and behaviors through play! Improves communication as well. Parents should bring their children (ages 7-13). Older children are welcome also.

This program will provide information about building the necessary attributes to bring success into your life. You will assess your own personal strengths and weaknesses through a personal activity. After this activity, you will learn how to draw on your own strengths and strategies to develop your abilities so you can reach your full potential! You will also learn how to improve your ability to prioritize your short-term and long-term goals. Find your strengths while improving other areas so you can lead a productive life!

Aluminum wire, base wood block, tissue paper, pipe cleaners are provided for participants to create and form the basic shapes of anything they want to model. Learn movement and self-expression and leave with a finished sculpture!

This program is designed for parents who want to ensure that their child is getting the most out of the public education system. Parents will also have the opportunity to exchange information with one another. Guided conversations in a supportive environment with a School Psychologist.
