| Torgan, Keith | My Story, My Song: a workshop in creativity through songwriting |
Music, Other, Performing Arts- Literary Artists |
Everybody loves songs but most people have never made one up themselves. Songwriting can be as natural as breathing … or humming – and since we all have plenty to say or should I say sing about this is a no-brainer! In this workshop we learn about the basics of song form and improvising melodies but more importantly we discover all kinds of exciting ways to access our creative impulses and turn them into song! Free-writing exercises, group collaborations, guided meditations and sensory exercises are all part of this inspiring and delightful workshop. Why is it called “My Story My Song?” – well – because it’s the stories – the ones that are central to our everyday existence that fuel the creative process and serve as the centerpiece to this inspiring experience in personal creativity.
