Our educational programs allow learners of all ages to see live birds of prey up-close and to learn about the impressive adaptations and behaviors of these remarkable birds. We also discuss the conservation issues that impact them and how to make a difference. Several different Bird of Prey programs are available with discussion on the different species behaviors and habitats along with hands-on learning with real feathers, talons and bones, as well as information on local wildlife, wildlife rehabilitation and what to do if you find injured or orphaned wildlife. We also offer owl pellet dissection programs. All Programs are designed according to the audience. Special requests are always considered

Enjoy a relaxing time drawing the marine life and flora found tucked into tidal pools at the beach--but at the library! Create a drawing/painting from actual beach finds and images using watercolor pencils and special effects. Instruction on composition, drawing technique and using subtle textural elements will help you really capture the essence of nature. Mood music will soothe.

I use interactive songs -- original and traditional -- as well as musical/theatrical improvisation to really make this an interactive, fun and energetic experience! No one will be sitting just watching -- there will be moving, dancing, singing, spontaneous fun. You will need to rest after my show! I love to empower children to use their imagination and be part of the show.

Bats are declining rapidly. Why should we care? Gary Feldman will show you why we need these life-sustaining members of our ecosystem more than you think, what their purpose is, and why we can’t live without them. Learn when the phenomenon called colony collapse started and what is wiping the bees out of existence. What will happen without them? Will our ecosystem and people change? Learn what the impact will be at our supermarkets. Learn how you can keep the “buzz” still humming, keep the butterflies flourishing, and why we all need to go batty to save the bats.

Whether they're flying in the sky or crawling under a rock, bugs are fascinating creatures. The children will learn about different kinds of bugs through simple songs, stories, and finger plays and wiggle their fingers in a Very Hungry Caterpillar roundup with finger puppets. No special craft table is needed for the parents to work with their children to make a special butterfly craft to take home.

When performing for young children they use puppets and tell stories with lots of participation. Their repertoire consists of folktales and original stories tailored to please their audience.
