At Mama Pajama’s Playhouse, our motto is “Rest Time Is The Best Time!” We believe that daily transitional time from the busyness of work and play is necessary for our bodies and minds to rest, recharge, and re-energize so that we can be our very best in the lives we lead. We use our live, interactive music and story shows, as well as our online concerts and story times to encourage and reinforce positive rest time perceptions to our audiences in a fun and entertaining way. This particular show is available in three formats - music only (entertainment-based), music only (entertainment + education), or as a story show, which uses both music and storytelling (entertainment = education). This show is primarily intended for children age 3-7, and of course their parents!

Life Skills- Other
Yoga is a superb form of physical exercise balancing strength, flexibility, endurance and relaxation/stress management skills. Many postures are designed to stretch, tone and strengthen particular parts of the body, and students are encouraged to respect their own particular strengths and weaknesses while exercising. I have been told that my special way of engaging the children during class makes Yoga so much fun, that they don’t even realize they are exercising! Furthermore, many children seem to enjoy the guided visualization/meditation at the end of class the most. I am currently using several hundred meditations designed specifically for the minds and hearts of children. The ancient healing arts of yoga and meditation can undoubtedly help countless individuals, who struggle with different anxiety disorders, learning disabilities and behavioral problems. Furthermore, many of our young people (as well as adults) are at risk of developing diabetes and obesity. In general, people tend to overeat when stress levels are high and energy levels are low; yoga helps to bring these into balance for optimal health and well-being. This program may be offered to students once or on an on-going basis.
