Bach, Fernando Sor, Heitor Villa Lobos, John Dowland, Antonio Lauro, Manuel Ponce, Francisco Tarrega, Isaac Albeniz, and others. I will also incorporate discussion of relevant historical information that pertains to the pieces performed.

Rita Parisi, in her one-woman original play, will pay tribute to an often misunderstood woman; a woman who was also a mother, an accomplished dancer, an exhibited artist and a published writer in her own right. *appropriate for mature teens and older. *includes some stage lighting

Audiences learn about and hear flutes from around the world while also learning a message about diversity and acceptance. Flutes included are from India, Romania, South America, Africa, Hawaii, Japan, China, Cambodia, and more! Tereasa is a regular performer with Disney’s “The Lion King” where she performs on 13 of these flutes from around the world.

My program of seven stories from cultures around the world answers some humankind's questions of just what is that up there? This program works in concert with the 2019 Summer Reading Theme A Universe of Stories Tales include: Coyote and the Stars (Navajo); Sun and Moon (Ibibio/Africa); Saving the Moon (Mexico).

Ron Cain conjures up your favorite fictional lands with his new magic show, Build a Magical World! The Central New York magician takes young readers on an imaginary trip to places like Wonderland, Neverland, Hogwarts and Oz. Children help him perform tricks inspired by characters and stories from different fantasy worlds. Cain also helps youngsters use these books to come up with ideas for improving their world. Values stressed include kindness, cooperation, hard work and concern for nature. The 45-minute magic show highlights the 2017 New York state summer reading program theme, Build a Better World.

Bromka, Sondra & John Erie Canal Tall Tale Writing Residency and Performance Event History,

Workshop participants will learn about the tradition of the 'Tall Tale,' and then work together to create their own original tale. This program draws upon the Erie Canal for theme and inspiration, and includes songs and dances that reflect our multicultural heritage. We conclude with a joint artist/student performance for the community, wherein participants perform their tale, songs, and dances as an integral part of the artists’ musical theatre performance piece '15 Years on the Erie Canal.' (see related program listings.) The finale performance will be geared towards family audiences, and includes participation for all who attend. It will feature music on the artists’ unusual collection of authentic historical instruments, including squeezeboxes, hurdy gurdy, hammered dulcimer, and more. All participating children will gain hands-on experience in a range of artistic disciplines, including writing, poetry, dance, music, and storytelling/theatre. Children will be exposed to actual Tall Tales of the Erie Canal Era; they will learn factual information about our county’s famous canal; about the era’s multicultural heritage.
