At certain points in one's life, it may become important to heal, to “empty” or “clean house” internally, in order to release old, worn-out beliefs, patterns, negative thought processes and unwarranted fears. Shamanic Journeying is the perfect way to heal old hurts, even stubborn ones, in order to experience wholeness and optimal health and well-being. Each workshop has a unique theme. Examples of themes are Seasons of the year, elements of Nature, such as water, essences of particular plants, such as pine from the forest, etc. I may lead students through a series of very gentle Yoga stretches and breathing techniques to help them to relax. We then transition into Shamanic Journeying, in order to get in touch with our innate wisdom and sense of perfect wholeness. In this state of consciousness, it becomes possible for students to gain profound insights into their own lives, those of their friends and loved ones, as well as the wider world in which we all live. Journeying as a group helps to create a safe, secure and supportive environment, in which an individual feels validated in her/his own experience.

This session is offered as part of the popular in-house library program known as the Parent/Toddler or Parent/Child Workshop. Dara Linthwaite will be happy to talk with parents and caregivers about ways to use music with their young children and answer any questions they may have. Dara has worked as a kindergarten teacher in a private school for gifted children, as well as a music teacher in a preschool for children with developmental disabilities. If you'd like, let Dara and her guitar conduct circle time for the last 15-20 minutes of the program and watch the little ones dance and sing with glee!

Learn how to make pizza from scratch. Each participant will measure, mix and knead all the ingredients to make their own pizza dough. They will then shape the dough in a tin, add the sauce and the cheese. The pizza will be baked at home. This can be a family program.

Invite the preschoolers of your library to bring their favorite Teddy Bear or other 'lovey' to this musical teddy Bear's Picnic! We'll be learning finger plays about hungry bears, participate with packing healthy pretend foods for a picnic, and rocking the library with songs about this "picnic time for Teddy Bears" as the song lyrics go! All music is live, performed by Miss Dara and the children, never pre-recorded.

Zumba is an exciting easy to follow, Latin-inspired dance/fitness program that draws on music and rhythms from all around the world. Rhythm play and dance games add zest and variety. Zumba for families brings the whole gang together, increasing bonding and quality time. Plus, children get fit while they build personal, learning and social skills--all in a party-like atmosphere. Wear sneakers or shoes to move in and bring a water bottle. Come experience Zumba--together!
