Folks, this a first as far as my presentations go. Here is another delightful program that you can bring the whole family to. Watch as I recount the history of animation and cartoons from the earliest days of the cinema to it's glory days on National TV syndication which in turn resulted in made for TV cartoons. The highlight of this program includes a 16mm film presentation of classic animation made for the movie houses and cartoons made for TV. Come and see your favorites, from Porky Pig and Elmer Fudd to Huckleberry Hound and The Pink Panther, this is a program that will not disappoint the young and old alike. Book early, this program will move like a hot cake.

Participants will watch a short media that introduces them to Jackson Pollock and his art. We then will (in summer- out doors) paint like Pollock. we paint in a controlled manner,and drop cloths and washable paints are used. This "eco-friendly" program uses recycled cardboard, and supplies, brushes, etc.

This is a classic for everyone. i bring in a HUGE amount of re-purposed and craft materials. i will bring in some samples (as well as photos from previous classes) and the children have 1 hour to create whatever they would like. I am there to help them acheive their goals. It is wonderful to watch what happens when you just let children be creative.

Storytelling and origami together as one, two arts combined, doubles the fun! Discover Storigami with the award-winning author of ten books, including NATURE FOLD-ALONG STORIES and the new picture storybook, THE SUN, THE MOON, AND THE ORIGAMI GRAMMIE. A novelist and performing artist since 1991, Christine Kallevig folds giant-sized paper as she tells stories. Each fold represents an action, setting, or character, so by the time the story is over, a surprise origami figure is magically created. Included are audience fold-along activities, original material from her books, and origami adaptations of traditional folk tales. Christine uses music, humor, and large origami puppetry to dramatize the stories, and always finishes with an easy fold-along tale so that everyone has an origami souvenir to take home.

Learn to make soap the old fashioned way! This program allows participants to craft their own soap with a variety of molds and natural additions such as hibiscus flowers, jojoba, lavender, vanilla beans, the sky is the limit! This program is tailored to your library audience. For younger children can use a melt and pour soap, and older teens can watch a demonstration of the chemical reaction between lye and lipids. This fits nicely with Laura Ingalls Wilder's 'Little House' books, and some libraries use it as the finale to a story time featuring one to give patrons a real life experience. Macrame was first invented by sailors while out on whaling ships. Hemp is an environmentally sound, easily renewable source of fiber used for clothing, paper, and twines. Hemp comes in many vibrant colors as well as the popular natural color. I have many workshops available, from Beginner to Intermediate and Advanced. Make a bracelet learning a variety of macrame knots and bead placements. Most workshops best suited to Teens and Adults, I do have a couple that can be adapted to grades 4-6.
