Tim has worked extensively with young children in school residencies and programs for family centers and libraries. He's also led workshops for teachers and assistants as well as fellow performers and teaching artists. Tim Van Egmond has been delighting and captivating audiences all over the country for over 30 years. He has been selected for the New England States Touring Program, the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Education Programs, and the New Hampshire State Library's Kids, Books, and the Arts Project.

The Politics of Persuasion - Folk Music and the 1960's: During our recent times of political turmoil and indecision, one of the best ways to put life into perspective is to journey back into the 1960's and reevaluate the movement and the songs of the artists who broached the topics of the time. Join us as we watch clips and see such artists as Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Tom Rush, Donovan, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and many many more. Come and be inspired by the music and investigate the invigorating feeling of taking control of one's own destiny. Along with the performances we'll also discuss the history of folk music and its importance in helping shape the America we live in today.

An interactive program of songs, small and large movement, and rhythm instrument play for preschoolers and their parents. Story themes may be incorporated with the songs, e.g. songs about the seashore, songs about the seasons, songs about the river, songs about a holiday or national celebration. Parents interact with their children and the children learn that music and reading is fun, especially when sharing quality time with their parent or caregiver. Rhythm instruments (over 12 different types) are hand-held percussion instruments that are sanitized prior to use and are very sturdy and safe. (A craft or art project may be added on, which will extend the program length to 1 hour and 15 minutes.)

Veteran storyteller and musician Story Laurie is looking forward to rockin’ & groovin’ with your library patrons this summer. Named ‘Best Children’s Performer’ by Hudson Valley Magazine, Story Laurie is renowned for her amazing ability to engage kids of ALL ages with her deliciously creative and fun participatory programs. For the 2018 LIBRARIES ROCK theme, Laurie invites your SRP audience to ‘Get Down, Jump Around, & Boogie with Books!’ This program combines groovin’ musical versions of classic picture books (eg. Five Little Monkeys) with lively story songs (eg. Abiyoyo) and highly original sing-along songs based on much-loved picture book characters (Blueberries for Sal & Pete the Cat) and real life heroes, such as Mama Miti (Wangari Maathai). Laurie's program always serve up a bushel full of fun while also inspiring a lifelong love for reading. Reinforce your child's experiences with water activities this summer with "Songs of the Sea". Little ones will participate in music and movement activities as they listen and sing along to songs about the beach, the water, and the creatures who dwell therein. Parents and children will "Row, row, row" their boats together, learn finger plays and some simple sign language while enriching their own song repertoire for the summer. All music is performed live by Miss Dara, with help from the children.

A show all about Books, Music and magic. Your audience will meet Digger the Dog, and a talking guitar named Gary. Bob Conrad will lead the audience in a Pioneer Dance, a Sing-a-long, and a Latin Rhythm Band made up of audience members. It's Magic, Music, Puppets, Ventriloquism, Storytelling and Audience Participation. Laugh-a-minute fun you don't want to miss.
