Build the excitement for your summer readers with a lively participatory program of multicultural folk tales and songs! These are inspiring blueprints for A Better World. Stories include Slops! (a Welsh couple learn to be more considerate and become better neighbors), and Old Joe and the Carpenter (a spiteful farmer hires a carpenter to build a fence, and instead he builds a bridge). Songs include If I Had A Hammer and The Turning Of The World. Tim’s dramatic style of voice, movement, and facial expression brings stories to life, and his gift of encouraging participation makes for high-spirited and engaging programs. He’ll accompany songs and stories with guitar, mountain dulcimer, and conga drum. A program bibliography will be available so that books containing the stories can be on display, and Tim will recommend them in the program to celebrate and encourage reading. Tim Van Egmond has been delighting and captivating audiences all over the country for over 30 years. He's been selected for the New England States Touring Program, and the New Hampshire State Library's Kids, Books, and the Arts Project.

He’ll accompany songs and stories with guitar, mountain dulcimer, and conga drum. Your patrons are the stars in this interactive show where children's picture and chapter books come alive through music, singing, dancing and acting. Props, puppets and costumes are used to enhance creativity! Each show (for babies, toddlers, pre K, and elementary ages, features 5 - 8 books performed "on the spot" as if they were musical numbers in a show. Cue cards are used to enhance group singing! Will work with the "Stories of the Universe" theme. Will happily incorporate new songs for this exciting theme!

Ackerbauer, Bill Songs for Kids of All Ages Music
Bill Ackerbauer loves to get kids excited about participating in live music! He encourages sing-alongs, movement and silliness as he performs traditional and original material with guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica and other instruments. Bill has more than 20 years' experience as a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He has performed with bands in several genres (rock, bluegrass, folk) in addition to playing solo. Bill has performed for audiences of all ages at public libraries in Johnstown, Gloversville, Canajoharie, Troy and Ballston Spa, to name a few, as well as at museums, schools, festivals and markets around the state.

Dave brings along his banjo, guitar, bones, spoons, washboard and jaw harp for a special program full of musical fun. Audience members will delight in seeing and learning a bit about these instruments up close while enjoying some great participatory songs performed on each. Expect singalongs, movement songs, laughter, guessing games, even a few cartoon themes.....some audience members may even be invited to come up on stage and join in the fun with Dave! Dozens of library references.

Audiences are instantly engaged when a Medieval merchant's cart overflowing with mysterious and intriguing musical instruments arrives. Master Craftsman Yanek is en route to the greatest trading faire in all of France. His path crosses that of Lady Heliotrope, an exuberant troubaritz (female troubadour) in search of poetic inspiration. From here the fairytale spins as their tales entwine in this authentic period storytelling production that will absolutely delight audiences of all ages. Sondra and John Bromka infuse the performance with historic music on a great variety of unusual medieval instruments-many actually built by John, an accomplished luthier in real life. An authentic and appealing program!

From Siberia, Russia, Crystal Trio performs on crystal glass. These professional musicians ‐ Igor Sklyarov, Vladimir Popras and Vladimir Perminov ‐ play special instruments made from glass: Glass Harp, Verrophone and Glass Pan-flute Bass. The current repertoire includes variations of popular classical melodies of Mozart, Boccherini, Glinka,and Vivaldi, in addition to original pieces written specifically for a crystal glass. The mysterious, gentlemurmurs of crystal glass allow the listener to understand known melodies in a new fashion; it opens secret,unexpected sides of classical musical pieces.
