Bromka, Sondra & John	'Wassail' Renaissance Christmas Pageant & Music Revels	Music, Performing Arts- Storytelling, Performing Arts- Theater	'Sing, Say, and Play!' in this participatory Christmas music and pageant performance that toasts the old year and welcomes in the new. Set in the Magical Days of Yore, it is fanciful weaving of historic music, traditions, and surprises. 'Wassail' comes from the Old English greeting Wes hael, meaning 'Be thou hail!' and wassailers even today go about England carolling friends & neighbors in this traditional musical well-wishing. To highlight the event, the audience takes on roles in a traditional mummers’ play - a lighthearted spectacle of singing, costumes and laughter. Mummers' plays are still performed in rural England as improvisatory theater in streets, homes, and community gatherings, and feature a host of characters who symbolically assist the sun in its turning through the shortest days of the year. The culminating event of the play is the grand Wassail Bowl, around which all gather to wish a fine Yuletide Season! Torgan, Keith	My Story, My Song: a workshop in creativity through songwriting	Music, Other, Performing Arts- Literary Artists	Everybody loves songs but most people have never made one up themselves. Songwriting can be as natural as breathing … or humming – and since we all have plenty to say or should I say sing about this is a no-brainer! In this workshop we learn about the basics of song form and improvising melodies but more importantly we discover all kinds of exciting ways to access our creative impulses and turn them into song! Free-writing exercises, group collaborations, guided meditations and sensory exercises are all part of this inspiring and delightful workshop. Why is it called “My Story My Song?” – well – because it’s the stories – the ones that are central to our everyday existence that fuel the creative process and serve as the centerpiece to this inspiring experience in personal creativity.	$351- $500
Sumner, Rachel	Rockin' All Around the World	Music, Performing Arts- Storytelling	Award-winning children's recording artist Rachel Sumner put together a special concert for the 2011 theme. This program is available any year. She usually tours in NY State and Western PA the last week of July into early August. Please contact her for on-route bookings. Singing songs and telling stories that teach as well as entertain, she has gained fans young and old. Her music videos appear regularly on The Learning Channel's Ready, Set, Learn during Short Stuff. She can also be heard on children's radio, satellite and airline programming around the world. In addition to her concert performances, Rachel presents keynotes and workshops full of creative ideas, music and fun for educators, librarians, families and parents. She is a trained Arts Integrated Specialist with the Tennessee Arts Commission. She also works as an artist in residence with various arts organizations and is a Master Artist with the highly acclaimed Wolf Trap Institute.	$501- $1000

Be ready for an inter-active, educational and entertaining, good time show. You'll be treated to stories from the Appalachian and American Indian tradition. You'll hear lots of great music, with classic American songs(some with a completely new twist) like Froggie went a courtin', Freight Train, Oh Susannah and This Land is your land. History, Music, Nature- Environment	Using a variety of songs and instruments, and her collection of BOOKS THAT SING, Nan offers presentations for children and families that are fun and informative and invite audience participation. Suitable for the 2013 NYS SUMMER READING PROGRAM, her concerts can serve as kickoff or culmination events, or can be included at anytime to stimulate reading interest. Music, particularly folk music with its emphasis on lyrics and stories, can help promote reading, writing, listening skills, and language development. For libraries following this year's SRP theme, presentations will include songs that tie into several kinds of 'digging'. We can dig into reading as we dig into a garden, sowing seeds of learning that sprout new discoveries when cultivated at the library.
