Teens will discuss their emotions and use drawing and art as a positive outlet for relaxation. Discussion about how different colors represent different emotions. Teens will also fill in and color mandela designs.

Learn the basics of soap making and then make your own soap to take home. This class will discuss the types of artisan soap making that exists from cold and hot processed soap to melt and pour. Students will see a demonstration of melt and pour soap making and take home a sample from class. In this hour-long program, a Psychologist will teach you easy and fun strategies to help get things done (GTD). You will learn how to set short-term and long-term goals, how to keep a calendar of events, and how to make effective lists. Some other skills include: Productivity, efficiency, team work, and independent thinking.

Every patron prepares the meals being presented, and will leave with a serving of each item. The goal is to teach everyone easy tricks for prepping meals, so they can stay on track with their health, so patrons are asked to bring questions! MENU (is determined by the current season) Come join us and get your organics on, and learn how to make simple and fun recipes! Ask questions on substitutions for allergies/sensitivities, overall health, and anything else food-related. I do have a Food Handling Permit and business licensing for proper food safety & handling.

This unique, multi-media workshop is entertaining and educational, part presentation, part concert, part civic-engagement inspiration. Lara will share stories, play original songs, invite participants’ own individual reflection, and offer insight on the vision, values, people, places and events that have inspired her. Themes will span a broad range, from community connection to hardship and hope, resilience and transformation, legacy and passing a torch, and setting each other up to succeed. Step in, step up: we are the leaders we’ve been waiting for. (Note: This workshop can be tailored towards more interaction/participation, or towards more presentation/audience.)

Carpenter, Margot "The Heart Knows Better": Changing Prejudice to Kindness Life Skills- Other,

Learn where racism begins and how it can end, during a film and talk presentation by award winning filmmaker Ken Kimmelman. View 3 short films by Mr. Kimmelman, the Emmy Award winning public service film "The Heart Knows Better"; "Brushstrokes," an anti-prejudice film commissioned by the UN; and "What Does a Person Deserve?" a celebrated film against homelessness and hunger. The films are part of an interactive presentation about how the philosophy Aesthetic Realism, founded by American educator Eli Siegel, can change prejudice to kindness. His statement is the basis for "The Heart Knows Better": "It will be found that black and white man have the same goodnesses, the same temptations, and can be criticized in the same way. The skin may be different, but the aorta is quite the same."

Summer Escapades celebrates family fun with participatory stories chosen from Diane's best-loved family tales. Original fables, folktales and songs give us a look at exiting summertime adventures including the aquatic antics of a curious monkey who goes for a wild ride on the back of a shark! Summer Escapades is also available with Celtic harp accompaniment by Margot Chamberlain. Either way it's the perfect summertime treat.

Exercise Like The Animals educates and inspires kids to be fit through fun animal mimicry, rhymes, instructor-led “Playouts,” books, videos and games. All children deserve to be fit without the need for a team, a ball or much more than their imagination. Exercise Like The Animals combines the power of a child’s imagination and their love of animals to move them into personal understanding of a body’s mechanics. We’re all just looking for a fun activity to get and keep us moving and help us build confidences in ourselves.
