Engel, David	Do Not Go Gentle--An Evening With Two Great Wordsmiths: Dylan Thomas & William Shakespeare	Literature- Poetry, Performing Arts- Literary Artists, Performing Arts- Theater	"Do Not Go Gentle.." is an hour with two great wordsmiths: Dylan Thomas and William Shakespeare. In reader's theatre style, selections of these two poets are presented allowing their work to be savored and juxtaposed. Whether for the first or the thousandth time, your patrons will enjoy famous and lesser known works of Dylan Thomas ("Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night," "And Death Shall Have No Dominion") and select soliloquies and sonnets by Shakespeare in the way they were meant to be experienced: live and direct. This program promises a lively hour of moving, life-affirming contemplation against a background of thematic music, dimmed lights and (electric) candles flickering. Selections will rotate to reflect the changing seasons. Please consider booking a program this April for National Poetry Month or in November or December for a special, full reading of "A Child's Christmas In Wales."	$351- $500
Siy, Alexandra	Author Visit: GET STEAM!	Literature- Creative Writing, Media- Photography, Science	GET STEAM! explores the links between STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) while presenting the process by which I create children's books--including research, photography, and writing. Using images from my books, BUG SHOTS, MOSQUITO BITE, and SNEEZE!, I introduce students to hidden worlds magnified and photographed by an electron microscope. In depth observation of a variety of specimens is accomplished with a 5X jeweler's loupe provided to each workshop participant. Students explore how they can use observation to to inspire their own creative-nonfiction writing.	$201- $350

She is a member of The Movable Book Society, an association focusing on paper engineering techniques, where books flip, flop, squeak, and pop! In this workshop, participants will be introduced to some of her favorite paper engineers and their books. Students will have the opportunity to create their own moveable book. Byers, Kathy	YOUR SCHOOL IN SONG CREATE ONE TODAY!	Literature- Creative Writing, Music, Performing Arts- Puppetry	Co-written with input from all classes participating in the songwriting process. Additional songs are written as students are inspired by the "muse" in the classroom. Forty-five minutes per class works well for brainstorming, creating lyrics and melodies and voicemail recording with an iPod in the classroom. The school is presented with a CD-recording of their own School Song and a printout of lead sheet and lyrics. A celebratory assembly culminates the songwriting experience.	$351- $500
Smalley, Carol Parenzan	Create Living History Books	History, Literature- Creative Writing, Science	How big does an oak tree grow? In this workshop, Carol shares a story within a story. In The Growing Story of Milton Hershey School, students observe the growth of a tree on a hill overlooking the town of Hershey (PA). While the tree grows, so does the community, park, chocolate factory, and a special school. Students use the book as a starting point to write their own growing stories, where they parallel the growth of a plant with the history of their community, school, or family. Hartin-Gelardi, Lorraine	Be the Hero of Your Own Life…Finding Your Place in Family Stories	Life Skills- Other, Literature- Other, Performing Arts- Storytelling	Every family has a collection of stories, sayings, photos, objects, memories and customs that make them unique. Storyteller Lorraine Hartin-Gelardi will help children become “story detectives” and search out the answers to questions such as “What was the worst meal you ever cooked?” “What is the best vacation you had as a family?” “How did you get your name?” Children will develop techniques for exploring family history and ways to share their stories with others.	$101- $200

Welcome to New Age Gawain and the Green Knight, Edgecomb’s hilarious send up of the men’s movement. Loosely based on the 14th century poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Edgecomb’s comedic adaptation has New Age Arthurian knights running for their therapists faster than you can say Litigation! Tom Megan’s score provides a lush atmosphere of sound as we journey along the ‘road less traveled by’ in this fun loving tale.. This 50-minute performance can be combined with other seasonal tales for a longer wintertime program or stand alone as entertainment for any time of year. Appropriate for audiences ages 12 and up. Middle: Establish plot, setting, and conflict. End: Edit and re-write the story and create a resolution! Assemblies: Katie teaches story construction, sequencing, how ideas transform from thought to published book. Audience learns to do drawings of emotions, Katie shares her own mistakes, and teaches skills students can use when creating their own stories. Highly interactive program - audience helps write a story; volunteers make different emotional expressions. Katie draws their faces on the characters and together they create a new narrative with emphasis on beginning, middle and end.
