After 20 years of programs, here are the 10 most fun, participatory (even a bit athletic!) kids' songs Tom’s been able to find - all in one program! In keeping with the “Libraries Rock!” theme, he includes lots of encouragement of the kids’ lifelong participation in music, reading, and library usage. He performed 52 programs during the Summer Reading season of 2017, accompanying himself on guitar, banjo, and a drum machine to keep things nice and upbeat. He’s added beautiful slides and cool facts about area animals (visuals… like a real rock show!). Tom can usually be booked for $275 with no mileage fee ($250 each for within 125 miles or for 3 or more booked together) - please see below. Using a variety of songs and instruments, and her collection of BOOKS THAT SING, Nan's presentations are fun and informative and encourage audience participation. Complementing the 2019 SRP theme of A UNIVERSE OF STORIES!, programs will focus on making space in our lives for reading and music and how they are intertwined! Both can carry us to faraway and unexplored places, arousing our imaginations and enriching our knowledge of many topics, including our history, family and community,and nature and the environment.

Whether they're flying in the sky or crawling under a rock, bugs are fascinating creatures. The children will learn about different kinds of bugs through simple songs, stories, and finger plays and wiggle their fingers in a Very Hungry Caterpillar roundup with finger puppets. No special craft table is needed for the parents to work with their children to make a special butterfly craft to take home.

Gary will teach you the fundamental differences between organic and conventional food. Learn about organic standards and how organic food is grown. Find out the correlation between how conventional food is grown and why so many of us develop brittle bones. Gary will show you the various organic certifications to look for on food labels, how to decode produce stickers and the most reasonably priced and nutritious food choices. Gain a new perspective on the food we eat. Gary Feldman has over two decades in the nutrition field. He created an innovative nutritional supplement specialty retail catalog and is a continuing education instructor in food and agriculture.

An engaging program that introduces students to the science of comparative anatomy. Following an introduction into the science of 'reading' bones, students compare & contrast a variety of real bones from different animals. Teams 'dig' through bones and are challenged to hypothesize about the origin, type and name of the bones. The program culminates with students creating a necklace made from animal bone.

Macrame was first invented by sailors while out on whaling ships. Hemp is an environmentally sound, easily renewable source of fiber used for clothing, paper, and twines. Hemp comes in many vibrant colors as well as the popular natural color. I have many workshops available, from Beginner to Intermediate and Advanced. Make a bracelet learning a variety of macrame knots and bead placements. Most workshops best suited to Teens and Adults, I do have a couple that can be adapted to grades 4-6.
