Join Lee to celebrate the holidays in this multi-cultural dance party. Lee brings props, puppets and instruments and engages children and their families in singing and dancing to her fully orchestrated music. Children will dance with hats and giant candy canes, families will catch huge streaming snow flakes, jingle bells and maracas and more! It's a Winter Wonderland of a show!

The Nego Gato Afro-Brazilian Music and Dance Ensemble bring to their audiences the rich African influenced rhythms and dances of Salvador, Bahia, Brazi--areas known for customs deeply rooted in the traditions and spirituality of ancestral Africa. The ensemble was formed by the Artistic Director, Jose Sena, known professionally as Nego Gato, to share his experience of growing up on the streets of Salvador immersed in the magical sounds of street music, Carnaval and Candomble ceremonies. We present Living History and are accompanied by live percussion.

Singer-Pianist-Entertainer and society orchestra leader Mitch Kahn offers a series of programs exploring the vast wealth of the 20th century's Great American Popular Songbook. Whether rollicking through a Cole Porter patter song, poignantly crooning a Henry Mancini ballad or picking up the pace with Sadaka, Manilow or Billy Joel, Mitch's exquisite musical arrangements and superb vocal delivery are guaranteed to keep audiences entranced. Interspersed with history and anecdotes about the songs and their composers, these shows are appropriate for audiences aged young adult through senior (and sing-a-long is part of the fun). PROGRAMS CURRENTLY OFFERED: Introduction to the Great Songwriters, The Songs that won the Academy Award, Aspects of Love, Sail Away.

Dave brings along his banjo, guitar, bones, spoons, washboard and jaw harp for a special program full of musical fun. Audience members will delight in seeing and learning a bit about these instruments up close while enjoying some great participatory songs performed on each. Expect singalongs, movement songs, laughter, guessing games, even a few cartoon themes.....some audience members may even be invited to come up on stage and join in the fun with Dave! Dozens of library references.

Andy's 2013 program Dig Into Reading with Song is an interactive musical journey using songs and story books at the same time. Many different stories will be sung while volunteers take turns turning the pages. Call and response songs, movement, rhyme and much more will be covered.

The Aussie Funk Jam is a totally interactive and hands-on musical experience. The didgeridoo has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1500 years, and is known for its mesmerizing sound. Participants will learn how to play the “didge,” including animal sounds and simple rhythms, with our beginner instruments. The Aussie Funk Jam is cool, funk and unique – perfect for tweens & teens!

Hopkins, Allen Songs of Irish Immigration History,
Music
Music drawing on the Irish experience, mainly as emigrants from Ireland and new settlers in America. Selections include songs of departure (Muirshin Durkin, Off to California), of immigrant experience in the US (Paddy On the Canal, Paddy Works On the Railway), discrimination and adjustment (No Irish Need Apply, When McGinnis Gets a Job). Familiar songs of the jukebox Irish canon (When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, My Wild Irish Rose) are used to highlight the assimilation of Irish immigrants and their nostalgia for the old country. Mixed in are Irish melodies of all eras, from O'Carolan harp tunes, dance jigs and reels, Irish rebel songs, and many sing-alongs. Accompaniment on guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica and concertina. Very suited for St. Patrick's Day season. Performed at New England Folk Festival, Hazard Library (Poplar Ridge NY), Wide Awake Club Library (Fillmore NY).

Corn-Tastic - We learn about the many uses of Corn in today’s world. We learn the science and benefits, to the world, Corn brings and how we can all be the future, through education, of discovery. Farmer Tom Walsh, during his program, will distribute agriculture and farm related STICKERS to the fair goers. BEE ON THE FARM: Farmer Tom Walsh’s program has an agricultural theme that begins with a fun and educational story and then song on the life of bees. During the show everyone will gain an appreciation for the importance of bees in agriculture production. Bee My Friend: Everyone will gain an appreciation for the importance of bees in agriculture production. Cooperation with and respect for others (Dignity for All Students Act) is available for Elementary grade levels with his original story, The wooly bully bee, is a story of a bee that is misunderstood and everyone helps to tell the tale! Performance Preparation: Activities can include curriculum requirement, cooperation with others, farming, vegetables, recycling, nutrition, safety, history and music.

American songs FOR CHILDREN – A collection of children’s music and storytelling. As one of the country’s most original Singer and Storytellers, FARMER TOM Walsh takes the listener on a fascinating journey through the roots of American music and his own original songs with a little help from the grooves of The Grateful Dead, Phish, his Friends moe and his own lovin' soul. FARMER TOM performs his songs and stories gathered from Masters he has studied and performed with including folklorist John Lomax and Mike Seeger of the Smithsonian institute of America, Legendary Traditional American musicians Doc Watson, Norm Blake, Joe Pass, Fiddling Mark Hamilton and others. FARMER TOM is a Master of the open tuning, of the guitar, in early roots music; pass to him by Mike Seeger. Workshops, at festivals, are available.

A sleuth's case file of stories and songs about solving the crime, catching the thief, and guessing the riddle! Tim’s dramatic style of voice, movement, and facial expression brings stories to life, and his gift of encouraging participation makes for high-spirited and engaging programs. He’ll accompany stories and songs with guitar, mountain dulcimer, limberjack, mouth bow, and conga drum. A program bibliography will be available so that books containing the stories can be on display, and Tim will recommend them in the program to celebrate and encourage reading. Tim has been delighting and captivating audiences all over the country for over 30 years. He has been selected for the New England States Touring Program, the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Education Programs, and the New Hampshire State Library's Kids, Books, and the Arts Project.
